Third Floor Common Room [Friday Evening]

The fact that Bobby was in the common room was not, generally speaking, cause for alarm. The fact that he was in the common room kitchen area with a box of brownie mix might be, though, depending on who you asked.

Kennedy didn't seem too concerned from her spot on the couch. She did, however, look pretty pleased with how the t-shirts that both she and Bobby were sporting had turned out. The t-shirts that read "I can't help it if the ladies know a good thing when they see it".

The gaggle of snow-angels that had been following Bobby around all day apparently agreed with the t-shirt's sentiment, at least from the way they sighed dreamily every time he glanced their way. Bobby was pretty sure he'd seen one of them swoon, even.

"Like the main chef's assistant," Priestly explained. "And hell yeah it was. I'm thinking I might see about going to culinary school after graduation."

"You mean to become a real chef, later?" Karla asked, intrigued. "They have schools for that? That's pretty neat. And when you finish, everyone will know you're a good chef and should be hired?"

That resonated a lot with what she and Dinah had been talking about, before. Adding more schools, so they could learn more skills. Hmmm...

"That seems to be how it works. Plus, I totally get to have fun cooking stuff."

"We should cook together sometime!"

No, Karla. Just no. You want Priestly to like you, remember?

"Yeah? You cook?"

"I've been practicing!" Karla assured him. "Raven and I just made cookies with Professor Skywalker. He said they were good!"

No, Karla, he said they were interesting. There's a really big difference there.

"Yeah? That's a good accomplishment. Baking can be seriously hard."

"Just don't let me help if I'm acting very oddly or speaking in rhyming couplets, okay?" Karla said, looking serious. "It really just is better if you don't. I might be gremlin-bit. Again."

"That sounds like it's probably a good rule for everyone. No cooking under the influence of gremlins."

"No going out in public under the influence of gremlins," Karla countered with a laugh.

"And deprive the island of your special brand of crazy?"

[glacial_queen]

"Maybe if the island didn't get to be amused by our antics, it wouldn't send so many things to make us crazy!"

"Yeah, but then it might get bored." And wasn't that a terrifying thought.

Yes. Yes it was. Shudder-inducing and everything. "I retract my previous comment," Karla said quickly.

"Probably a good idea to just let it get its jollies out."

[glacial_queen]

Karla watched one of the little snow angels clustering at Bobby's feet. "This is one really odd island," she said fervently.

"I never seen another like it."

[glacial_queen]

"I don't intend to look."

[lovemykilt]

"Might be a good plan. But, hey. At least you come from a place where people are used to magic. We've got nothing even remotely like this at home."

"Even still, the magic back home is nothing like this," Karla retorted, shaking her head. "No animated snow angels, no constantly-playing music...definitely no gremlins."
