Third Floor Common Room [Friday Evening]
The fact that Bobby was in the common room was not, generally speaking, cause for alarm. The fact that he was in the common room kitchen area with a box of brownie mix might be, though, depending on who you asked.
Kennedy didn't seem too concerned from her spot on the couch. She did, however, look pretty pleased with how the t-shirts that both she and Bobby were sporting had turned out. The t-shirts that read "I can't help it if the ladies know a good thing when they see it".
The gaggle of snow-angels that had been following Bobby around all day apparently agreed with the t-shirt's sentiment, at least from the way they sighed dreamily every time he glanced their way. Bobby was pretty sure he'd seen one of them swoon, even.

She looked pretty bummed about the whole thing. "I just got my Windsol gifts delivered. With a note from Morton suggesting I stay at school for the break."
*Hobart's asking questions.*

*I don't know. Morton said that his trips to Dhemlan must have tipped someone off, but...* Karla looked a little dubious. *I don't know. I just got a funny feeling when I was reading that part of the letter. Probably nothing.*

"Stupid Hobart manages to ruin everything," she grumbled.

Sulky Karla was sulky.
"But they sent me Windsol gifts," Karla said, perking up a bit. "I have a miniature honey-pear tree in my room. It has tiny little fruits and everything!"

She called in one, a tiny fruit the size of a golf ball. "There are only three or four ripe ones," she said, handing it over. "Happy after-Windsol-almost-Christmas."

Like she'd forget about that. No way.
"I got a whole chest of things from Kaeleer," she added with a smile. "I haven't opened anything else though. I'm trying to make them last the full thirteen days of Windsol."
Sure, Windsol had already happened back home, but that didn't mean she couldn't celebrate here.

"Cool. And yay for that, making it last. Thirteen nights? Does it commemorate anything in particular, aside from winter and Witch and all?"

Karla just put on her best 'You've begun discussing things I haven't the least idea about' face and waited.

The more you explained this stuff, Dinah felt, the sillier you sometimes felt. But she took a breath.
"So, they got to the city, and went to the king who was there to ask if he'd had a son born or something, and he was all, 'noooooo, but when you find him, tell me where he is, 'kay?' Which, they got a bad feeling about that. So after they found Jesus, in the barn where his mom and dad had to stay because all the inns were full and there was just nowhere else in town, they went home a different way. Maybe that's why they're called the Wise Men, because they didn't go back and talk to the king about that."
She paused, and then added, "And then the king was supposed to have tried to kill all the boy babies in the city now that he'd heard about the prophecy, but Jesus and his family escaped."

In her defense, a lot of what she'd learned about came from Aeryn.

Sometimes you just cut your losses with this stuff.

Just wait till Easter, Dinah. Just wait.
