5th Floor Common Room, Christmas Eve

Emma was practically humming as she skipped into the common room, arms laden down with supplies. It was Christmas Eve, her favorite night of the entire year, and she was determined to enjoy it.

She put her favorite Christmas movie on the television, and then set about making herself a large pot of real hot chocolate, with heavy cream and cinnamon, just like Felicia used to make for her. It was one of the few things Emma could cook using a stove, and she enjoyed it.

...Felicia had never added just a biiiit of alcohol, but some traditions were meant to be changed.

But for now she had a blanket, a movie, and her coco, and there was more simmering slowly on the stove if anyone else wanted some. In the spirit of the holiday, Emma might even share...if she liked you.

No one said she was on Santa's 'Nice' list, after all.

[Open CR is open, yup! Christmas Orphans come one, come all...]

"Funny," Effy remarked, quirking a slight bit of a smile. "About the time most people's family drives them crazy." Hers included. At the moment, probably worse than ever. For the best that she was staying here, she told herself.

Just replace 'sisters' with 'parents' and that sort of philosophy fitted for Effy rather nicely too, and she smirked. "Interesting way of looking at it," she noted as she sat in a nearby chair.

"Guess it's got to be a half-decent movie for you to be watching?" she hoped, since she was sitting down and all. Emma somehow didn't seem the type to settle for crap, in any area.

Effy nodded slightly. "I haven't seen it," she admitted. Though she was letting her eyes wander over to it on and off as she talked. Paying a hint of attention was better than paying none at all.

"When I go classics, I go silent movies." Something about them she'd always rather related to. "Clara Bow."

"People talk too much." At least, that was Effy's opinion. But, this coming from a girl who stopped talking for a year, in part, because she got bored..."Reckon if any of them met someone like Paris Hilton, they'd punch her lights out." Which made one more thing they'd have in common with Effy.
