3rd Floor Common Room [Sunday Afternoon]

Bobby's ability to somehow procure massive amounts of food had not deserted him, as evidenced by the fact that currently in the common room there was one (1) Bobby Drake, a stack of the last three (3) issues of Rebel Justice Unleashed and one dozen (12) pizzas of various varieties.

The common room was open and Bobby was perfectly willing to share... the pizzas, that is. Persuading him to share comic books might be a more difficult task.

[ooc: bored. avoiding doing anything resembling something productive, at least until I have to go back to school tomorrow.]

"Mat," he replied. "It's a pleasure to meet you. Did I miss you at the picnic yesterday, or have I been completely unobservant for the last few months?"

"I don't see why both can't be true."

Mat snickered. "Good point," he admitted, "but I don't normally miss meeting pretty girls for that long. Are you new?"

"Awww, you think I'm pretty." Claudia grinned. "Just got here yesterday."

"In that case, welcome," Mat said. "You didn't run fleeing down the road, so am I to assume you're planning to stay?"

"Don't have much of a choice. This is all government mandated."

Mat blinked. "Your government makes you go to school?"

"It does when you don't have a parent or legal guardian to do it."

Mat made a sympathetic face. "No family?"

"Not for awhile now."

"I'm sorry," Mat said sincerely. "I'm the only one of my friends with both parents still alive. I also have a surplus of sisters. Would you like one?"

"That's okay. I had a big brother for awhile. Wouldn't wanna try to replace him or anything."

Mat nodded, giving her another tiny smile. "I wouldn't want you to think I wanted you to," he said. "My sisters are good people, if a little overinterested in stopping me from doing anything fun."

"My brother had moments like that. But he was really good at bringing up something else fun instead."

"Like what?" Mat asked, taking another bite from his pizza.

"He let me help him with his experiments."

"What kind of experiments?" Mat asked. "I've discovered that if you cover a dog in flour, it will run home and get flour all over the goodwife's kitchen and then you have to live in the barn for a few days."

Mat blinked. "You're bloody beyond me," he said with a laugh. "Electricity was a revelation."

"Seriously?" Wow. People here were really kind of insane, weren't they. "Man, computers must just blow your mind."
