The Roof, Tuesday Evening
Antsy. That was maybe the best way to describe how Warren had been, yesterday, today, waiting for his first actual class while trying to get his head wrapped around what he'd pretty much accepted as 'as normal as things are going to get.'
He'd made his way to the edge of the roof, looking out over the island as the sun set and the lights in the town slowly started to flicker on. This place was nothing like New York. And at the moment, that was probably the biggest relief that he was going to get.
He straightened his coat, turning his gaze out toward the other corners of the island, and for a moment he couldn't help but be seriously tempted to just pull it off, give his wings a good stretch, and jump. There was a sort of freedom to free-fall, and an exhilaration in catching himself again entirely too close to the ground. A guy could get addicted to it.
To flying.
But for now? For now, he'd content himself to the view. It wasn't half bad, even if it wasn't New York.
[Open Roof is open!]

At least the weather was nice? You know, if you were Bobby Drake and considered Antarctica "cozy".
"Hey, War," Bobby greeted, the nickname slipping out without him really thinking.

"The Amazing Bobby Drake, right?" At least he was good with names? "How are you doing, this evening?"

He was still trying to figure out what a Muggle was, for example.
"Are you taking anything interesting this semester?"

"It looks like we're both in Love and Romance, and then I have something that was written down as DADA, and... Fashion?" He raised an eyebrow. "That last one is going to be interesting."
He had no idea. Seriously.
"I think they just stuck me into whatever, when I enrolled. It was on pretty short notice."
He probably could have handled that Business course, for example.

He was so going to own the fashion class. Unless Deadpool decided to pick on him. Which was entirely likely, here, considering the guy had referred to him as 'my little turtledove' when they'd met.
Deadpool kind of freaked Warren out a little.

And so he walked up to the roof.
Where there were people.
Damn.
"Nice night," he said, covering his disappointment with small talk. "You can see a lot from up here."

"Bruce, right?" Warren looked away from the small amalgam of twinkly lights over yonder, and gave a small nod in greeting. "It isn't really a bad view. I mean, it doesn't quite compare with the lights of the city, but it has its charms."
Such as the fact that it was not the city. That was quite charming all on its own.

Bruce was lying there. He loves big cities.

It would take some doing, anyhow.

He shrugged.
"So, you do a fair bit of travel, then, Bruce?"

"I just got here after a brief flying tour of New York State, myself," Warren replied. In complete honesty. Kind of. "It was somewhat spur of the moment, but worth every moment. Most travelling I've done in the past has been on business."
Rich super boys of the island, unite.

"I don't come up here very often, but I can see why some people might," Bobby admitted. "It *is* a pretty sweet view."
