fandomhighdorms | Fourth Floor Common Room, evening

After ~~causing trouble~~ hanging out with Roy for a while, it was a very chipper Bobby who was making his way back to the third floor when he was distracted by the sound of television in the fourth floor's common room.

"Hey, Dru," he wandered in, giving her a cheerful little wave. "What's on?"

Dru recognized that voice. "Bad sci-fi movie. A hurricane's about to hit Chicago. And for the record? I will not be flashing you."

Which, had Bobby not figured out the phone craziness, might've normally made him flail a lot.

Instead, he just cracked up laughing. "I'm so disappointed," he said, clutching at his heart as he found a place to sit.

"What the hell was that about?" she asked, still not getting it.

"I'm not sure if you'll think it's better or worse that the message wasn't actually meant to go to you," Bobby informed her.

"Maybe better? I mean hell," Dru laughed, "Maybe somebody likes flashing you. In which case, who am I to say anything?"

"Hey roomie," Hayley said, bouncing into the common room. "How ya doin'?"

"Playing spot the next victim," Dru said, pointing at the TV. "The cranky old lady? Definitely gonna die."

"Man, people really like watching people die, huh?" Hayley said, starting to wonder about the general sanity of the school population.

"Nah, it's more like playing spot the cliched character," she replied. "I don't think they've had an original thought in Hollywood in years."

"How many years?" Hayley asked. "Since my time, you think?" She pondered this. "Movies coming out when I'm from seemed plenty original."

"I don't know. But it seems like every other movie coming out these days is a remake of something that came out twenty years ago." Her father bitched about it constantly.

After some time staring Tino down at Caritas until the bartender felt suitably ashamed about the kind of messages he left for people, Bruce made his way back to the dorms when he decided to stop into a common room.

What Tino said was still disgusting. He was hoping that talking to enough people would help him forget it.

"What's on?" he asked.

"Hey Bruce. It's a really bad disaster movie. A hurricane's hitting Chicago," Dru replied. "I'm playing spot the next victim."

"Realistically, any number of people would die," Bruce noted. "The area's completely unprepared for that kind of weather front since similar weather events only rarely make it into the Great Lakes region."

"In real life you're probably right," she agreed. "But this is just a bad movie. Don't ruin the game."

"Sorry," Bruce said, barely restraining himself from going on about how death - even fictional death - wasn't a game.

"Who's winning the game?"

"It's not completely unheard of that hurricane-like weather systems would make it into that area," Bruce said. "I have no doubt you're right about the acting, though."

"Also, horrible special effects. Annnnd I'm pretty sure that's actually Vancouver, not Chicago."

"Clearly. The skyline doesn't match at all," Bruce agreed. "Nice catch."

"Hayley," Bruce said, staying slightly on guard. "How are you tonight?"

"Oh, I'm just great," Hayley said. "My friends definitely surprised me today."

"Do I want to ask how?" Bruce questioned.
