The roof, Tuesday evening

Dinah was finally feeling -- well, not fully recovered yet. But well enough that she didn't have a headache, or like she needed to rest after a normal day. Still edgy enough to need to be outside, although the roof was as far as she felt like going after sundown. A lot to think about, on a lot of subjects. The roof gave her a view of the lights of the town while she considered.

"Not that time. I went to the wedding and ate popcorn." Dinah looked off toward the lights, then hesitantly said, "A year ago, though. I turned into someone else for a weekend. A lot of other people did too. That was... weird."

Remembering how careful she'd always been around Raven, Clark and Hayley, not to out her other selves if they existed, Dinah took a breath. Lots of people knew, so not a direct lie, and he might catch onto that, but... "A superhero girl. Same as Katchoo and Francine." She tilted her head. "Spandex-y weekend, really. I got into a catfight with some villainess in Caritas. That didn't end well. And I never did find out who that was."

"So you're not normally the type to wear spandex and fight crime?" Bruce asked.

He wasn't sure he completely believed that.

Eeeep. Act. Act and tell as much truth as possible. "Spandex is for crazy people, Bruce," Dinah kidded him lightly, kicking the edge of the roof with her heels. "Tight and binding and show-offy." She shook her head. "I'm going to be a P.I. I guess that counts?"

"As long as you're not one of the sleazy detectives - and I doubt you would be - then, yes, that counts," Bruce concurred.

Dinah beamed at him, unable not to. "No way. Missing persons, cold cases, all the way. No divorce cases, there's enough work out there without doing that, even if it doesn't pay as well." She stretched out her arms in front of her with only a little wince. "Assuming Gotham U accepts my application for the criminal justice program." She gave Bruce a sliding glance, wondering. "Are you doing the Wayne Enterprises thing?" And dating every cover model in existence?

"I'm fifteen. I don't think I'd be allowed to even if I wanted to," Bruce said.

In reality, of course, Lucius Fox would be running the company until Bruce saw fit to return to Gotham.

"Well, not right now. Obviously." Dinah paused, then said, "Even if Chuck Bass does already own a bar and a strip club." Fifteen. He was two years younger than her. That never stopped being weird. "Someday, though. Business stuff? Or do you want to do something else?"

"We'll see. I have plenty of time before I need to make any decisions about the future," Bruce said.

Really, his future was so well planned out that he could almost pinpoint the date he was going to take over Wayne Enterprises.

She wished she could just believe that. That there was a Bruce Wayne somewhere who'd save the world being a janitor. You don't actually know, she told herself. Maybe he will?

"Plenty of time to get used to the weird here. And learn stuff from it," Dinah added. "Survive and advance, right?" Go Gotham Knights!

Dinah checked. Not quite disbelieving, but maybe impressed. "Are you? With everything you've heard? And the stuff you haven't seen yet?"

"Within hours of arriving here, I had already crossed dimensions, met people from different times and universes who know of Gotham existing in different states, saw people use portals and magic, met zombies, and heard about more things that I never could have imagined," Bruce pointed out.

Most people might think they had gone insane after hours of that.

Most people weren't Bruce Wayne.

Dinah stared at him, and was proud of herself: she kept the wow internal. But that answered one question of, yeah, he was always... him.

"If anything does break your brain here, I want to be there to see it," she told him. "But I'm starting to think you have ice water in your spine."
