The laundry room, early Saturday morning
Dinah was down in the laundry room, getting this week's clothes clean, yay. Always good to have it to herself. At least until something yanked a hose from one of the washers free, and started to spray her with it, giggling like a homicidal maniac.
"What the hell?" Dinah put up her arms, spluttering, then reached for the hose with her TK, holding it away from her long enough to get the water out of her eyes.
"Nyaaaah!" A half-dozen green, mean, red-eyed little critters, now starting to throw detergent bottles at her-- and then one leaped and tried to nom her arm.
"AGH!"
Oh, it was on.
[expecting one but totally, totally open]

Oh, it was on.

She sprinted down the steps and burst through the door, stopping abruptly at the sight in front of her.
"The hell?"
no subject
Hysterical laughter as three critters were now nine. "Oh, shit." And kick another one into a dryer, where it flopped, snarling.

A quick stomp with her boot on it's throat and the creature wasn't a threat any longer.
Dru pulled the switchblade she'd tucked up her glove out and flicked it open just as the one Dinah had tossed into the wall unsteadily got back on its feet.

The one she'd tossed made a leap for Dru, and Dinah yelled, "Your left!" Then she saw three others making a break for the door. "Nuh-unh!" Slam!
So, now they had six or seven of the little monsters to deal with inside an enclosed space. Awesome. And two of them were chittering and now shoving a bench at her, catching her behind the knees. "Oof!"

"I would give my eye teeth for a gun right now."

"Tell me about it." Dinah did a head-count, came up with five, and said, "More spin cycle?" The dryer she'd thrown one into was now smoking nastily. She grabbed a laundry cart and rolled it toward Dru.

Dru caught the laundry cart and waited expectantly for what Dinah had in mind.

One gremlin jumped out from where he'd been hiding behind a dryer and went for Dinah, Dru snapped the knife towards the gremlin, pleased when the creature dropped to the floor and screamed.
The fire extinguisher was in her hands a second later, ready to use as a weapon.

Giggling from above, then the light went out as something was thrown at the overhead panel, leaving the room even darker than it was before, all shadows now and slanting light from a high window. "Great."
no subject
She listened closely. She could hear the scratch of nails on the cement floor, it was just a matter of pin-pointing where it was coming from.
no subject
She slammed a washer sideways, just as something shrieked high and loud, then landed on her shoulder, grabbing out, fingers in her hair, reaching for Dru too. "Aaaagh!"

The scrambling noise was getting nearer as the last gremlin circled around them.

It did, and Dinah realized it was heading for the exit, even though she still couldn't see it very well. "Door!"
She shoved another bench in the way of the door, and heard a high-pitched squeak of outrage, then a snarl, and pushed a cart toward the sound, hard.
no subject
There! She sprayed the gremlin with the foam, blinding it, then stepped forward and finished the job with her knife.
"Now where?" Because she was pretty certain there were more of them about.
