3rd floor common room; Monday afternoon

Chuck was extremely glad to find to wake up to find the school gremlin-free (aside from the usual ones, that is) and took advantage of the quiet and being up earlyish by eating in the common room for once. He grabbed a bowl of cereal since that was the extent of his culinary abilities and settled down in front of the TV.

Was there anything on during the day that didn't involve a bunch of women crying over some book Oprah recommended?

"Well, well, it's Chuck Bass, holding court," Hannibal said, having nothing else to do but wander the halls. It was nice to do that without the freaking gremlins giving him the bums rush. "Feels like it's been forever since I've seen you."

"You obviously haven't been looking in the right places," Chuck said. "Though, I'll admit, I was scarce this weekend. For good reason."

"It wasn't like I was out there, trying to add scars from gremlins to what I already have," Hannibal replied, flopping down. "You avoid them altogether?"

"Hell yeah I did," he said. "I'm not one of those idiots who goes out and fights for fun."

"Aww, but they protected you, Chuck!" Hannibal said, snickering. "Now you owe them dinner or something."

Because that would happen.

Chuck rolled his eyes. "I'm sure the problem solved itself without everyone out there playing Captain Wow. People around here just have massive hero complexes."

"You do anything interesting this weekend, then?" he asked. "Or just smoked and slept?"

Hey, it wasn't like he didn't know Chuck a little.

"Mostly, yeah. I had a little hitch when Dan Humphrey tried to invade my room but that was fixed easily," he said. "I take it you did something along those lines, minus the smoking?"

"Mostly," he said, nodding. "I went out a few times because I wanted food but I wasn't going to try and face them down. Gremlins are a little too...swarmy for me. I met Dan a few weeks ago. I think you did radio that night, in fact."

"Sucks, doesn't he?"

"I kept trying to get him to take his shirt off just for fun and he wouldn't do it," Hannibal told him. "Too bad I didn't connect you and him together. I would have told him I'd slept with you."

"What, in an attempt to make him gag or something?" Chuck asked. "I'm sure he's used to me sleeping around."

"More to see if I could get him to scrunch up his face and make gagging noises," Hannibal said, shrugging. "I have to get my fun somewhere, right?"

Having spent his Sunday hiding out in his room, Priestly was feeling restless and set about wandering the dorm in search of people.

"Heya, Chuck. What you watching?"

"I'm trying to decide between soap operas or The View," Chuck said. There really wasn't anything else on. "I'm honestly not sure which one would have more drama."

Priestly had honestly never watched either one. But he'd heard things. "The soap operas might make more sense?"

"You have a point," he said. "And people on soaps are a little better looking, even if it's in a Botox-y sort of way."

"Also, you get the whole added bonus of knowing at least the drama is between fictional characters. So there's less guilt for wanting bad things to happen to 'em."

Chuck personally felt that Elizabeth Hasselbeck deserved every bad thing she got but figured Priestly wouldn't appreciate that assessment. "Soaps it is then. If we're lucky there'll be a wedding that needs to be stopped dramatically."

"Ooo." Priestly went over to the fridge to grab some cold cuts and make a quick -- and for him, fairly boring -- sandwich. "I take it that happens a lot?"

"Every couple weeks or so," Chuck said with a nod. "These people really don't understand the concept of a long engagement. I mean, they don't even wait long enough to make sure their previous husband or wife really died in that plane crash or if they're just stranded on a deserted island."

"Or that their fiance is really their fiance and not their fiance's evil twin?" Look, you didn't have to actually watch a soap opera to have a feel for some of the tropes.

"Exactly," he said. "Though you'd think the random bad guy mustache would give something away."

"It's nice of the bad guys to always neatly identify themselves with bad facial hair."

Said the boy with a scruffy goatee and strange sideburns.

"Well they don't always do that," Chuck said. "Sometimes they have eye patches. You never meet a nice person with an eye patch."
