Third Floor Common Room: Wednesday Afternoon

Having nothing better to do today, Gunn had set himself up on the couch where a rerun of Wendy the Werewolf Stalker was playing on the TV. Between laughing at the show he was busy shoveling spoonfuls of Peanut Butter Crunch in his mouth.

In his opinion there were few better ways to waste an afternoon.

"You know, for a werewolf-stalker, she's not really doing that great a job," Karla said critically. "I mean...I just feel like dating and stalking shouldn't go together."

"It is a little bit on the creepy side. But if she weren't dating them, there'd be no conflict on the show. It needs its emo."

"I guess so," Karla said, a bit dubiously. "What're you working on?" she asked, noticing Claudia's bit of tinkering.

"It's called an 'image inducer'. Friend of mine uses it, and it's on the fritz, so I'm seeing if I can fix it."

"Oooh," Karla peered at it, hands clasped firmly behind her back like a child who's been firmly told to not touch. "It makes images then? When it's working, I mean? What kind?"

"Dunno for sure, but I'm thinking any kind you want. This one's set to coordinate with your stature and movements, though."

Karla thought about that for a moment. "Like an illusion?" she asked. "A full-body illusion?"

"Yep. Set up so a layman can use it regularly."

Layman being both a non-scientist and a non-magic-user, not that she'd use those terms.

Karla nodded a bit. "I can weave tangled webs that do the same; they just have to be triggered, which can be done by someone without Craft." She eyed the device again. "I don't think I could make one that small, though. Well, I could, but it'd be a lousy illusion."

"This sucker's very believable." Claudia had seen it in action, after all, as had likely most of the school, without knowing it. "Or, you know, it was before it got horribly drenched."

"Happened during the invasion?" Karla asked. "By the way--how're you doing? I heard you were sent to the clinic."

"Yeah, turns out wet gremlins and battery packs don't mix." Claudia scowled. "But I'm fine, just a little sore. Thanks."
