Dorm Basement: Friday afternoon

Through the course of his search through the dorms, Gunn had discovered a gremlin nest in one of the boiler rooms of the dorm. Being the civic minded guy he is, he had promptly put up noticed regarding a Gremlin hunt throughout the hallways of the dorm giving a time and place to meet.

And so Gunn sat at the bottom of the steps near the hallway leading into the basement.

If only he knew that some Gremlins could read.

K-Mart still had vivid memories of trying to pay Priestly with lint. So of course she was getting in on the gremlin hunt.

"I'm going to get to kick ass, right?"

Gunn smirked. "I'm more for bashing their heads, but kicking ass works."

"Bashing heads puts their teeth waaaay too close," K-Mart said. "Then they bite. And no thanks."

"That's why I got this," Gunn said holding a loft a bat. "No way is one of them getting me."

"They're tricky," she warned. "Don't underestimate them. Nice bat, by the way."

She looked around the hallway for anything she could co-opt into a weapon. Unless you counted that thirty-six cents in change that she was now scooping up off the floor, no go.

"God, I wish I could have my shotgun," she grumbled.

"No weapons in the dorm," Gunn replied. "You could hit the gym locker and grab a bat before we go."

"I like the way you think."

"Do you think people have tried this before?" Claire wondered.

"See, that's something a big sib should be telling me," Gunn teased.

Claire smirked. "It hasn't been tried since I've been there. That I know of. But the gremlins have been around forever."

"Not for long," Gunn boasted. "Little suckers are in for a reckoning."

"I hope so," Claire said, wishing she had her zat. A tennis racket just didn't seem quite as intimidating.

One way or another, this was going to be hilarious. So Leda showed up.

"Elf girl, reporting for duty sir."

"Do I look like I'm in the army or osomething?"

"Now that you mention it, not enough camo."

Kurt arrived at the gathering a little cautiously. "I thought all the gremlins were taken care of?" he asked.

"Hi Kurt!" Leda waved cheerily. Adventure!

Kurt waved back cheerfully. "Hello! How are you?"

"I'm great! Ready for an adventure!"

"Just don't get bit," Kurt chuckled. "Then you'll REALLY go on an adventure."

Leda actually kind of thought getting bit was fun. Most elves would likely commit hari kari if it happened. But she didn't mind being someone else.

"I'm not planning on it." She pulled a camera out of her pocket. "But just in case other folks do..."

Kurt grabbed for the camera. "Put that AWAY!!! I don't want to end up on that thing!"

Leda giggled, pulling it out of his reach. "Oh don't be such a spoilsport."

"I'm talking about the nasty ones that bite you and make you think you're someone else," Gunn replied.

"Like the school mascot?" Kurt asked. "Are you sure we won't get in trouble?"

...And there was something else he was worried about. "Are we trying to kill or capture?"

Gunn patted his baseball bat with a grim look. "What do you think?"

Kurt turned a little green, but nodded. "Ooookay. Can do."

Leading the way Gunn led everyone into the basement where... People could chat more as there was no signs of any gremlins. Yet.

Kurt looked around nervously. "So... where is this nest, exactly?"

Lea was looking around, her eyes open for any movement.

All of a sudden this was kind of seeming spooky.

Kurt hid behind her, and peered into the nooks and crannies where... nothing was hiding. "I've got a baaaad feeling about this..."

"Don't be a wussy," Gunn said rolling his eyes. "They have no idea what's coming."

"Dude, you have NEVER seen a horror movie, have you?"

He looked around some more. "How much farther?"

"Dude, this ain't a horror movie," Gunn sniped back. "This is real life. And if you don't shut your mouth they'll hear us. It's just around that corner up there."

Shhh, be vewy vewy quiet. We're wooking for Gwemwins.

Yeah, Leda could be taking this more seriously. But yeah, spooky.

Oh no! The gremlins have been waiting for their afternoon snack to arrive and there are bites a plenty.

Leda never saw the one that got her. She just felt a stinging pain in her wrist, and then...

"Finally, the Rock, has come BACK TO FANDOM!!"

Someday I'm going to just let my phone's auto correct spelling feature have its own way.
