Behind the Dorms, Tuesday Afternoon

"Today, we are going to try something simple, in anticipation of running a full-scale drill," Arthur started, clearing his throat. "Half of you will take the blue, the others will take the red. Those of you in the red, you have five minutes to spread out through the preserve. Those of you in the blue, your job is to get through to the other side without having your colour taken."

He dropped off a heap of pieces of cloth in the two shades mentioned. "If someone takes yours, you're out," he said, cheerfully, "so wear it somewhere clever, although keep it in sight. Get to it."

Ino perched up in her usual tree, nibbling on a sandwich, and trying to decide which colour she liked better.

Oh, man, decisions-- but at least decisions were a little easier to make, or at least slightly less of a chore, with sandwiches on hand, so Kennedy was demolishing one with alacrity. This sounded like fun, but could they freaking get to the full-scale actual drills, already?

What, a choice between getting ambushed in the woods or trying to get the jump on other people in the woods? Gabrielle had just spent her spring break doing a lot of exactly that.

Of course, she considered as she nibbled on a sandwich, she was usually following someone else's lead there, so hmm . . .

Illyria was, for Illyria, in a fantastically good mood, having spent the student holiday in Los Angeles this time, instead of roaming the island. A week of beating the crap out of sparring with Spike would do that. With no worry that she would damage the vampire, she could both take out her frustrations, and spend some time scaling back to levels that would be safe for weaker opponents.

So today she was standing just slightly less apart from the group.

With her arms crossed infinitesimally less tightly.

Possibly because he just dared to be different. Possibly because he liked to color-coordinate with his eyes. It was hard to tell with Zack, sometimes.
