Magic Reserves, Preserve by the Cabins, Wednesday Afternoon

Snacks today weren't the usual fresh-baked goods from J, GoB. Instead, the table held various deserts and snacks from Turtle and Canary - each one individually wrapped and sealed.

"I'm really sorry about what happened last week," Tony said grimly. "I promise it will not be happening again. But let's talk some strategy. Other than the normal human safeguards," and he was keeping a close eye on that snack table, by the way, "what ways do you know to detect poisons and drugs? What can you do if you know that you or someone else has been drugged?"

Other than, you know, not ending up poisoned or drugged.

"Such as never accepting brownies. Ever," Merlin added with an annoyed sigh. "If anyone has a method for testing things, please, feel free to share. It will be a lot more helpful for the rest of us."

[Wait for OCD. Done!]

Raven was never eating another brownie again. As it was, she wasn't too sure about the prepackaged food, either.

Arthur was cautiously optimistic about the usefulness of this meeting. Which was why he was slightly closer up on the action than usual.

Alex was glad she'd avoided the brownies last week. She was going to tread carefully around snack food from now on, oh yes.

Savannah was not eating any thing remotely resembling snacks today, thank you very much.

Though she would be talking to Sean about a detecting poison or drugs spell so that it would not happen to her again.

Diana has missed last week's excitement and was more than a little amused at the individual wrappings. At least it gave Samuel something to play with.

Tara had decided to stay clear of the food this week, packaged or not. She hugged her legs to her chest as she sat against a tree.

Kennedy, as usual, was hanging out near the back of the group, just watching like she always did. Kaeleer had been cool, if somewhat surreal, and this was way more comfortable a context for her to wrap her head around as far as magic use went.

And yes, she might have been watching Raven a little more closely than she was about to let on.

Preprocessed chemical goodness was A-okay with Kurt! He snagged some Twinkies and did the whole mingly thing.

Francine hadn't had the food last time anyway. Which isn't to say she wasn't even more turned off brownies than before, but it is to say that she wasn't particularly shying away from the pre-wrapped baked goods. Mmm.

"I apologize for my part in what happened last week," Raven had to say. "I began to project what I felt after eating the brownies, and it may have affected those who did not eat them, or amplified the effect for those who had indulged."

"Ohhhhhhh." Wow. Didn't that explain a lot? "And no problem, Raven. At least, no problem here." Eep.

Very, very closely.

If anyone named Chuck went anywhere near it, oh... there would be hell to pay.

The problem? Karla knew how to check for poisons and things. It was habit--at least, it should have been. But she'd gotten careless about it and now everyone had paid the price.

Karla was here, feeling pretty guilty. Which went a long way to mitigating the guilt about turning Chuck into a girl.
