The Sixth Floor, Friday Afternoon (Pre-Dance)

Once again, Emma had taken over the sixth floor, setting-up spots for hair and make-up, as well as making sure there were lots of snacks to munch on while people got ready. She was 'helped' in all this by a terrier puppy who was running around, supervising all the details.

After all, so many of the people at Fandom were completely hopeless when it came to things like this. It was her civic duty to try and at least prevent people from embarrassing themselves.


[OOC: Post is open to all the girls in the dorms! No, no boys allowed (EXCEPT THE AUTHORIZED CRASHER WHO KNOWS WHO HE IS). If you seriously annoy Emma, she will brain-zap your butt back downstairs, and you will hiccup uncontrollably for the rest of the night. ETA: UP. FINALLY. I'm around on SP until 6CST, and then AFK until 11ish.]

Rose didn't feel she was anywhere near needing help getting ready, but she couldn't deny it was way more fun to get ready with a bunch of friends.

...and it distracted her from how much she missed Lissa on days like this.

Still, she was in a generally amazing mood as she snacked on some food - okay, a lot of food, but her training hadn't exactly been cut short so she was starving - and looked around for people to be girly with.

Okay, one good thing about not having to get ready for prom? Karla was free to snack all she wanted. Of course, she was being careful and keeping her hands free so that she could help her friends with their dresses and things, but their were plenty of carrots and apple pieces and the like that she could eat and not worry.

In some ways, she felt like a little girl again, watching the ladies of her mother's Court get ready for a function before being sent off to bed. This didn't help with the slight melancholy she was feeling. Not because she couldn't go to prom, but because she could feel graduation looming over them.

Still, she did her best to remain cheerful and excited. It was their day, and Karla wasn't going to be all gloomy about it.

Karla was there with a camera, snapping pictures of people getting ready--with permission of course. And occasionally handing the camera off to someone else to get a picture with her friends. Smile!

Triela showed up a bit early. Her dress (http://www.edressme.com/scala-prom-12002w.html) wasn't a problem by now. The skirt was long enough to cover a thigh holster and short enough to be easy to move in.

Which helped offset the fact that she was showing so much leg.

Anyway, the dress was fine. But she knew she needed help with hair and make-up, and Emma was one of the few people she trusted on that front.

Given Rose's hair, it probably wasn't surprising she had a pretty big collection of hair stuff, and she'd brought it all up with her to share.

For herself, her hair was just being blown out and maybe curled a little. Possibly there'd be silver clips in it but it was definitely hanging loose.

Effy didn't need help dressing herself up, but that wouldn't stop her from pausing to observe the flurry of girly activity on her way down from a quick pre-dance smoke break.

Leia wasn't hopeless! She was a princess after all, she knew all about getting dressed up all fancy like, and doing horrible things to her hair. Which she did not intend to do tonight. She'd put it up, but keep it relatively simple.

Snacks. Snacks were good. And so was being girly. Kate kept forgetting that, lately; for some reason she was always hanging out with guys, nowadays.

So, the company of other girls was a welcome change, and she was in a very good mood. ...Although that might've also had something to do with having a date, too.

Hey. Kennedy didn't need help getting dressed, thanks; she was really just here to hang around. And enjoy the scenery, because come on, it would be criminal to let all this go unappreciated.

She was, like she tended to, rocking a pair of snazzy suspenders and her jacket was still on its hanger and dangling from the nearest curtain rod forcibly pressed into service for the occasion. Kennedy herself was lounging in one of the chairs, looking far too cheerful as she fiddled with her collar and debated whether to leave just the top button of her shirt undone, or go for two. Going for two was most likely going to win, because really, why do things half-assed?

Okay, so Jill didn't know most of these girls, but that was her own fault, and God knew she needed help with her hair. At least it was long enough to do something with by now.

Not that she actually voiced this, at least at first; she just sort of sat there and fiddled with her hair self-consciously. Possibly she was still a little nervous about her dress. She loved it, she just was worried it was too bold. Or something. Worrying was pretty much what Jill did.
