Front Lawn, Saturday morning

Prom had been awesome, and Dinah didn't have a hangover, so she'd woken up early and headed out for her morning run, then ended up on the lawn, going through katas instead of in the gym. Too nice a day to stay inside!

Funny, there were other people who'd agree.

[yup, for kidlets, but open for anyone not related too]

"Can we?" Warren was now looking between Aurore and Bobby. "I don't see why not, if your father is okay with it."

That was so strange to say. Seriously.

"I-" Bobby blinked. "You'll be careful?" he wasn't sure if he was speaking to one or both of them, really.

And now Warren was fixing Bobby with A Look.

"You think I'll drop your daughter?"

Warren had dropped Bobby lots of times! ... On purpose. Never mind, then.

"Well, okay, no," he had to admit. She did seem to move unnaturally fast, though. That was a little worrying. "I trust you," he said sincerely.

... There was something kind of warm and fuzzy about somebody telling him that he was trusted. Especially so far as his wings went.

"We won't be up for long," Warren assured him, and then nodded down at Aurore. "I can take you up," he offered. "But you have to promise me that you'll stay still for Mononc Warren, okay? Cross your heart?"

"I will I will I promise!" she chanted, bouncing up and down a little.

Awwwwww. More awwwww. It was a good thing Warren didn't have kids of his own, so far as he was aware. Because if he did, the combined force of adorable would totally be the end of him.

"Alright then," he said, reaching down to pick her up. "Hang on tightly, okay?"

"Holdin' on!" Aurore confirmed, even as she was practically vibrating with excitement. Flying never got old, nevereverever!

Warren was completely inclined to agree, too.

He gave her a lopsided grin, and then he crouched down low for a moment. When he straightened up again, it was with one heck of a flap, and up, up, up they went.

"Don't forget to say 'whee,' okay?"

[identity profile] liliceflakes.livejournal.com 2010-04-11 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
"Wheeeeeeeee," short pause for breath, "eeeeeeee!"

The 'whee' was totally important and essential and clearly not in danger of being forgotten.

How was it that flying somehow became even more awesome when somebody else was enjoying the heck out of it, too?

In any case, Aurore's 'whee' was being accompanied by his own, 'whooo,' and now Warren was going to fly just a little bit faster, just because he could.
