Dorm lawn [early afternoon]

Juliet was happily sticking her foot into her mouth on a blanket as Anakin and her (younger, at least theoretically) brother Christopher raced around on the lawn. The little boy squealed loudly as Anakin caught him and tossed him into the air, using the Force to make him hover for a moment.

"Again!"

"Say please," Anakin replied.

"Peas!"

"Close enough."

And being on campus meant that Anakin had put his lightsaber into the weapons locker. And he won't kill people in front of his kids! Come play Jedi tag!

So yeah, Daddy had been less than pleased to find that Aurore had done some morning adventuring on her own. But after enough wheedling on her part (look, she had years of practice at this and even Daddy at home had a hard time resisting, little!Daddy was totally an easier mark) she'd convinced him to let her go out and play on the lawn of the dorms.

"Bonjour!" she greeted. At this point, she was just trying to see how many people would speak French back at her. Almost no one except Papa and Remy did at home.

Anakin grinned. "Bonjour," he replied. "But I warn you, that's all the French I know."

"That's okay," Aurore said generously. "Your 'nounciation is better than Daddy's at least," she shared.

"That's because Rory--she's my wife--she taught me," he said. "Mostly I speak languages from other planets."

"Rory!" Aurore echoed. "That sounds like my name sorta. Other planets? I wanna go to other planets!"

"If you come to Fandom for school one day, you might," Anakin said. "There are people from lots of places here. What's your name that sounds like Rory?"

"Aurore," she said proudly. "See, almost the same 'cept I don't have 'eee' at the end. And there's an 'aw' at the beginning," she explained.

If Anakin was anyone but Anakin, that would have gotten an additional "aw," but instead she got a smile.

"It's a very pretty name," he said. "Who are your parents?"

"Papa, who is not here, and Daddy, who is," she explained ever so helpfully, for what was surely the eleventy-billionth time today.

"Do they have other names that grown-ups call them?" Anakin tried.

"Yeeees," Aurore said, after some thought. She figured he probably didn't mean the code names. "Papa is Jean-Paul and Daddy is Bobby."

Jean-Paul rang a faint bell, but Bobby sounded more familiar, and Anakin nodded. "Does he know where you are? You don't want daddies to worry. We get sad."

"Yup!" she nodded. "He said I could play outside so long's I didn't go too far away and this isn't far away at all."

"Very good," Anakin said with another nod. "Sometimes kids forget to ask." He lowered his voice. "I know I used to."

"Daddy says sometimes it's easier for forgiveness than permission," Aurore confided in Anakin.

...Yeah, Bobby was a fantastic role model, obviously.

"I say that too," Anakin replied.

"Then it's a good rule, right?" Aurore checked. "Papa says Daddy uses it as a 'scuse too much."

Well, now you've done it, Anakin.

"It shouldn't be used all the time," Anakin decided, "or that's how you get a reputation for being reckless."

Not that he had any experience with that. Really.
