Dorm lawn [early afternoon]

Juliet was happily sticking her foot into her mouth on a blanket as Anakin and her (younger, at least theoretically) brother Christopher raced around on the lawn. The little boy squealed loudly as Anakin caught him and tossed him into the air, using the Force to make him hover for a moment.

"Again!"

"Say please," Anakin replied.

"Peas!"

"Close enough."

And being on campus meant that Anakin had put his lightsaber into the weapons locker. And he won't kill people in front of his kids! Come play Jedi tag!

"Just like Mom and Dad, and Uncle Ben and Aunt Jaina, and Grandma, and Great-Uncle Luke," Cassa agreed. Then, apologetically as if she was sorry it was an afterthought, "And you."

"I started out Jedi," Anakin said with a slightly wry smile, "but I understand being overlooked."

Cassa took a deep breath and shook her head, with a stubborn Tahiri-like set to her chin. "Not any more, you won't be."

And that meant more than Anakin knew how to articulate. His private horror was what his children and grandchildren must think of him.

"Thank you," he whispered.

"You're welcome, great-grandfather," Cassa said softly. "It would have meant a lot to Dad, I know."

It was the first time that title hadn't stung his pride, and Anakin gave Cassa one of rare true smiles. "I'm glad to hear it."

Cassa beamed brightly at him in return, going quiet and thoughtful.

"You know what I think?"

"What?" Anakin replied.

"I think," she said, and it could have been childish guessing or surprising insight, or maybe some of both, "I'm proud they named Dad after you."

Drat those spring allergies that Anakin had never been victim to before this moment. He had to rub his eyes.

Silly allergies. Cassa reached out to hug him again. "It'll be all right, great-grandfather. I'll look after Mom and everyone for you."

"Thank you, Cessa," Anakin said, giving her another hug. "I'm certain that you are a huge source of pride for them."

"I try to be. Especially for Mom. Can I be one for you, too?" Cassa asked.

"Of course," Anakin said immediately. "Would you mind if I took a holo of you? I have pictures of all of my relatives in my office."

"I'd love to take a holo for you," Cassa declared, tugging hastily at her robes to straighten them. "You must have a lot of pictures, though."

"I do," Anakin said with a smile, "but I don't mind. I didn't have a lot of family when I grew up."
