Magic Reserves, Preserve by the Cabins, Wednesday Afternoon

Snacks were in sealed packages again, and an umbrella was duct-taped to the table to protect the food from any sudden showers. Unfortunately, the packages were already a bit damp, as the Turtle and Canary clerk had been in a foul mood.

"Weather!" Tony said. "Do you plan for it? Use it? Can it disrupt your casting?"

"Like storms to through off your opponents in a fight and the like!" Merlin added, an obnoxiously cheerful rainbow over his head. One that was suddenly shrouded in gray, dark rainclouds. "Or winds to keep them back."

No reason.

It was mostly sunny where Karla was standing, with occasional wisps of clouds. "How does weather affect any rituals you need for your casting?" she continued. "What are some ways you've learned to work around--or with--the weather. Are any of your spells dependent upon certain natural phenomena, like the moon phases or the time of year?"

"Please, feel free to share with everyone and--er--perhaps if anyone knows how to conjure an umbrella, it would be helpful?" Merlin added.

Hopefully no one would rain on the food. Again.

Raven was there, as was a large black cloud over her head. It wasn't raining, at least.

Kennedy neither planned for weather nor was capable of using it in any way that involved magic, but there would be no raining on the food while she was near it.

She kind of wondered if the sunshine following her around would last past nightfall; if she went on patrol with that going on, was it cheating?

Alex was there ~~the whole time~~ and decided to try out one of the snacks. She was prepared for the worst, after all.

Magic and weather. Oh, the Weather Channel wishes they could do this.

When they tag in.

Karla was here, and thinking about her upcoming trip. Everytime she did, the sun above her head got a little bit brighter.

Merlin's weather seemed to be changing constantly between clouds and sun. It was almost like watching it happen on fast-forward!

But he was most certainly there for questions.

And hopefully not going to get rained on again.

Arthur walked up to him - massively humid, tightly contained thunderstorm above his head for no other reason than that, bizarrely enough, it seemed to be his cloud's basic setting, although it seemed to lighten up with a bit of sun here and there - and eyed his cloud. "You've got a live one, then."

"Pardon?" Now the weather was... equally confused. A very special skill.

"The cloud," Arthur said, paused, and gave the confused weather a very distinct look. "Oh, now that's special."

A bit more lightening up in that cloud, although the lack of it bursting out into rain or actual thunder was probably giving people sinus headaches within a range of two miles by now.

Merlin glanced up at the clouds which promptly went back to behaving properly. "It's been doing that all day."

"Well, mine have been following me around all day, but they are stable."

Because Arthur's default setting was 'mercurial with a truckload of repression'.

"And a bit humid," Merlin replied, trying to be kind.

Arthur rolled his eyes. "You're a bit humid," he said, like it made sense. "Are you done here?"

That totally didn't even try.

"...I suppose. Did you need me for something?"

"Zack's been... having a rough time of it," Arthur said, a bit like it was giving him physical trouble to actually talk about this kind of thing, and humidity rose another five percent in his general area. "Obviously I told him to man up and deal with it, but..." You know. Maybe there was. Other stuff, or something.

Look, Merlin was the huggy one.

"...you want me to talk to him?" Emotional constipation via weather. Interesting.

"...I just thought maybe you'd have some... kind of idiotic advice on how to deal with him," he said. Right.

The clouds went dark for a moment before going back to their normal wispy white. "Have you tried talking to him like he's not your knight?"

"Zack is a knight."

His universe's variety of one, but still... a knight.

"A knight who's just lost his leader."

Being the one situation Arthur had never had to cope with himself.

"He's not your knight," Merlin pointed out. "And he's hurt. What do you expect of him?"

"He's one of my men." Which was a stupid realisation to have in the middle of a conversation about how to cope with the guy as a friend, but there you have it. "...I don't know. His leader forced him to kill him. What am I supposed to say about that?"

Dishonourable, unfair, not at all what I would do?

The clouds above Merlin's head froze and darkened rapidly. Like an oncoming storm. "Did you ask why?"
