"Good afternoon," Arthur intoned, smiling at those gathered. "We thought today might make for a good bonding experience over some more sports and, of course, copious amounts of food."

He wasn't overfeeding his reserves, but he was going to abuse frat to stuff his face.

"We have pizzas and hamburgers," he continued, "Feed as you wish. Hannibal will be informing you of the sport of the day."

Hannibal's stomach growled just at the mere mention of food but he snapped back to focus quick enough. "With exam being next week, we thought we'd do something fun, something silly. There's really no use in making you all work when you're too busy doing that for classes. So, today we're gonna be...hunting."

Don't get excited, Arthur. "No, we're not going to shoot deers or anything like that. We're playing laser tag. There's vests and guns on the table behind me for everyone. Put 'em on and then fan out through the dorms. Find each other, shoot each other, claim victory!"

Hey, laser tag was fun whether you were five or fifty.

"Try not to eat while you're playing," Arthur informed the group, sincerely. "It would be a shame to see you all distracted while you could be repeatedly shooting Hannibal." He grinned. "You heard the man."

"No one is going to shoot me," Hannibal said but he was already getting suited up. He was ace at laser tag. He'd win the whole damn thing. "Have fun, guys. Good luck in your exams if I don't see you."

There's food, there's frat brothers, there's fraternity! Have fun!

Get your laser packs on, grab a gun and fan out across the dorms. Shoot each other, hide, have fun!

Arthur had a laser pack. And a gun. And a good vantage point from one of the doorways.

And his usual sense of hypercompetitiveness. Fear.

Mat still wasn't familiar with guns, but he was a hell of a shot with a crossbow, a bow, and a slingshot. He figured he'd pick this up quickly enough.

For now he was skulking along the corridors (if one can 'skulk' while wearing a red coat covered in embroidery), looking for someone to shoot at.

After spending a minute wrinkling his nose at the vest, Warren gave his shoulders a shrug, folded his wings tightly to his back, and then pulled it on.

A bit of time spent grounded was totally worth it for the sake of laser tag, anyhow. Not that he would have been doing any flying indoors, anyhow.

Once they get all pinged in!

Hannibal was there, vest on and gun in hand, ready to win the whole damn thing.

"You look overconfident," Arthur observed, not without amusement.

"This isn't the first time I've played laser tag," Hannibal told him, smirking confidently. "Used to school all my buddies back home even when I was drunk or tired."

"And which buddies would these be?" Arthur asked, idly adjusting his equipment. "'Pre-school'?"

"Ha ha," Hannibal said, laughing airily. "Yeah, that's right, I hung around with people half my age. It always made me feel like a big man. Don't get jealous that I, at least, had friends, Arthur."

Arthur, for his part, laughed as well. "I'm a prince," he pointed out, "We don't have friends the way you do." A beat. "But you must feel quite lonely here with all the grown-ups... This weekend must have been a relief."

That would be Arthur asking about your weekend, Hannibal.

After a few moments to parse that, Hannibal eventually got what Arthur was asking him. Hey, there was a lot of sarcasm to wade through!

"My son was adorable, thank you," Hannibal replied. "And he dumped syrup on Angela so he was awesome too. You get saddled with any Pendragon offspring?"

"The usual," Arthur said, vaguely. "A son, and a daughter from last year." And that wasn't... weird, or anything. "I think I may have met one of yours." Easier topic: Hannibal's annoying spawn.

"Yeah?" Hannibal asked, smiling. "Probably. He liked to run away from me when he could. His name's Levi so if you met him, I'm sure you'll remember him."

"He was very... energetic."

Tact? Near Hannibal? Say it isn't so!

"He was like a jumping bean on speed," Hannibal laughed, shaking his head. "I had a daughter last year and she was much more...mellow. I don't think I slept more than two hours all weekend."

Arthur smirked slightly, and reached over to grant Hannibal a manly smack on the shoulder. "Couldn't have happened to a more promising father."

"Hey, I can deal with them for a weekend," Hannibal said, snickering. "As long as they get to go back on Monday, I'm cool with playing substitute dad for a few days. As long as I don't have any of my own for a long, long, looooooooong time."

"Now there's something worth toasting to," Arthur muttered, snatching a slice of pizza off the table.

"What, don't wanna be a daddy?" Hannibal asked, reaching for a bottle of water with one hand. "No little heirs to your princely throne?"

Arthur shot him a mildly annoyed look. "Don't be ridiculous," he said. "Of course I'm going to need an heir one day. This was simply a little early." And a little impossible. "And unexpected."

"Agreed," Hannibal said, laying off the heir talk after that look. He knew when to quit, contrary to popular belief. "You can tell all your future kids about their awesome Uncle Hannibal."

Look, see, he even gave Arthur an easy outlet to make fun of him.

Arthur snorted once. "You'll make a brilliant cautionary tale, eh?"

"I'll make a good tale, cautionary or not," Hannibal said, grinning. "You can't say I'm not unique, right?"

"Well, you certainly are very special, Hannibal," Arthur said, mockingly, and followed it up with another thump at the man's shoulder.

"And I feel the same way about you, Arthur," Hannibal returned. "I think we're having a real bonding moment here."

"Not in the slightest," Arthur said, smirking. "I'm going to trounce you at laser tag, just so you know."

"Yeah, yeah, we'll see if that mouth of yours is writing checks your ass can't cash," Hannibal replied, confident as ever. "Think you might find yourself on the losing end this time."

Well, Merlin might have a few things to say about Arthur's arse and how much it cashed, but that was totally a different discussion, Hannibal.

"From you?" Arthur said, scoffing in good humor. "I'll believe it when I see it."

"Don't worry, buddy," Hannibal said, giving Arthur's shoulder a thump now, "you're gonna see it here soon. I promise."

"Are you going to keep standing here bragging, or are you going to get to the action?"

"Bragging's fun," he said but checked his gun once more before giving Arthur a quick grin and heading out in search of others in the frat.

Arthur was there, also looking more than ready for... laser combat.

Who could probably take them all down in laser tag!

Maybe not. Steve had never been much of one for guns, after all.

I have the urge to watch Mallrats.
