2nd Floor Common Room, Friday Morning
It seemed prudent, after offering to teach Jonas how to cook a few simple breakfast foods, to ascertain that her skills were still at an acceptable level of competence. She normally cooked only for herself, after all—it was the smart thing to make sure of.
(Being Hinata, this was more her own fears of incompetence than actually having lost any skill.)
Either way, whether she was being ridiculous or not, she was soon happily at work making pancakes and waffles. Sliced fruit, syrup and whipped cream were all neatly set out should anyone want to help themselves. Yei darted in and around her feet playing some game known only to kittens and trying to trip her up.
There were some days, she thought, amused, where it paid to be quick on your feet.
[Ooopen! Some SP likely ‘cause of that whole working-for-a-living thing but I am around!]

"Something smells good," he said by way of greeting, wandering in and grinning. "I swear, I would starve if in this place if people didn't cook."
no subject
"Or you would live on take-out?" she replied lightly. "Wh-Which would be fearfully expensive." Three meals a day, every day... ow. "Please, help yourself."

"You could try a raw diet," Hinata pointed out, her eyes crinkling at the corners as she grinned. "No need to cook then."

"I believe it's mostly vegetables, fruits and nuts," she admitted. "Some fish can be eaten raw as well. Those following a diet like that wouldn't eat steak, I don't suppose."
Also, raw steak would be pretty gross to even think about eating.

She was building up resistance to it! Warren was one of her favourite people on the island but he was a flirt.
"Did you want pancakes?" Her eyes were bright. "You... can have syrup and indulge that figure of yours."

He was mostly kidding though and wiggled on of his feet for Yei to have something interesting to inspect.
"Dunno if I've met Warren yet," he added. "Seems I'm meeting a lot of people just as I'm set to graduate."

Toy! She had a toy!
"Are you staying on for the summer?" she asked, piling pancakes on the plate with deft hands before offering it to him. Hinata wouldn't dare to try and guess how much syrup he'd care for on them, so he could do that himself. "And Warren is... hard to miss. He has wings," she added, "but he's rather shy in some ways himself."
no subject
"I think I'm staying for some of it, at least," he said, taking the pancakes with a smile of thanks. "I haven't decided what I'm gonna do after all this but, hey, if I had wings, that'd give me a few more options than I have now."

Yei had a toy! A wriggly one! And that meant she had to cling to it in mock-ferociousness and purr her head off.
no subject
"Well, go flying, of course," he answered, smiling a bit. "Maybe I'd be the world's fastest food deliverer. Delivering pizza via wings in less than minutes or it's free!"

Hinata was amused, really.
"Do you think you'd enjoy something like that? Fighting crime?

"Do you not th-think that is the same for any job?"

Hinata didn't entirely agree with his reasoning, though.
"Th-That leaves out doctor or teacher as well," she noted. "Anything that m-means you'd have to be in charge of people in a situation where they might be harmed by failure."

"You have mistaken my for yourself," Hinata accused lightly. "I have planned parties before but I would not call them wild."
