the deck | late morning | sunday | april 25
Staying inside was for lazy grown ups who only wanted to watch boring television. If it wasn't cartoons or something going boom, Hannibal didn't want to be there. He, instead, wanted to be outside. The deck proved the best sort of place for an energetic youngster because there were things to climb on and hide under and jump off of! So, of course, that's what he was doing. Who thinks about the possibility of getting hurt when they're having fun?
Currently, Hannibal was standing on one of the tables, arms thrust into the air and voice loud enough to carry while he proclaimed himself the most awesome person in the world. His world view was quite small and quite egocentric so he thought he was pretty right.
When he jumped off the table, he couldn't quite stick the landing and ended up rolling onto his back. He meant to do that though. Totally.
[open deck, yep!]

"Where's your crown." Obviously he wasn't any kind of real king without that.
... Well, except in name.

"Mine are hidden under my clothes," he told her smartly. "Girls don't need 'em because you're weak and tiny!"

Oh, such a bad world view when he was tiny.

Still, she was all out of bribe material because of that.

"Bet I can beat you over there!" she said, pointing towards one of the trees, and barely letting that challenge sink in before she bolted off.
Beat that Hannibal.

Wasn't really working because, while his legs were longer, he was still a kid and the advantage wasn't much.

When she got closer there was a little slowing up, and she caught onto the tree with one hand, swinging around it to stop herself and look back at him.
"Seeeeee?"
Drawing out the word made it that much more believable.

Oh, he thought he had so much authority here.
