Second Floor Common Room, Monday Evening

Tonight by some wacky coincidence was the airing of the season (and series) finale of Darkest Night and the last Monday Tony was going to spend in Fandom. He'd thought of getting some special foods for the occasion, but really, what could be better than pizza, pop, ice cream and popcorn? Plus, getting to see your best friend play Dead Girl #1 on TV!

By equally wacky coincidence, Jack had bounded away from Emma and down the stairs. The terrier pup lay down on the floor at Tony's feet, tag that read "Jack Priest. No, really. Call Rose or Emma if found." neatly affixed to the navy collar round his neck.

Tony read the tag and grinned. He scratched the pup behind the ears. "You make a cute puppy," he told Jack.

Jack made a low, resigned growling sound in his throat, then settled in under Tony's fingers.

The petting thing wasn't all bad.

Tony scratched him down his back. "You can sit on the couch with me, if you want," he said. "I don't think there's any rules against it."

Jack put his paws on the couch, boosting himself up beside Tony, and rested his head lightly on Tony's leg, whining a bit.

This was not how he had planned to spend time after graduation.

Like Karla was going to miss the series finale--even though she'd missed most of the season. But whatever. That wasn't enough to stop her from heading to the Common Room to enjoy the last night of teevee with Tony and Dinah before they headed off to the wild blue yonder.

Karla hated the wild, blue yonder

"Kiss kiss," she called. "There's plenty of popcorn for throwing, right?"

"And eating!" Tony said. "How's it going?"

"Great!" Karla said, giving Tony a bright smile. And thanking the Darkness his powers didn't extend to any kind of mystic empathy. "I've been looking forward to this all season. Dinah's so proud!"

"I know, she had a lot of fun with it," Tony said. He threw a bit of popcorn at Karla, just for fun.

Karla batted it back at him with a hand. And then used Craft to make more fly up out of the bowl at him. "And since Dinah's going to be busy with college for the next few years, the next time you need a body for something you're working on, keep me in mind, all right?"

Tony chomped at a mid-air piece of popcorn. "I will. But I'll be in film starting in August, so I won't need to use your body any time soon." He blinked, thought about what he'd said, then shrugged.

"You don't make films in film school?" Karla teased, also deciding to just take that comment in the spirit it was meant. "What do you do instead?"

"We're gonna need to throw it. Except for the part where I'm dead," Dinah said. "I'm wearing a really great dress!"

"So, you're saying that you acting as a corpse is the highlight of the episode?" Karla teased. "That's not filling me with confidence, you know."

"It's that kind of show," Dinah said cheerfully. "Although Lee's pretty awesome, discovering my body and being all conflicted. And other parts. But we have to throw more popcorn at Mason. The doooooork."

"I'm all ready with the popcorn throwing," Karla promised. "Though I'm going to judge your body-acting skills quite harshly, so be prepared. I'd hate to have to throw popcorn at the screen when you're on it..."

Especially when it would be more fun to throw popcorn at Dinah instead.

"Oh, I'm good. Very dead. And pretty!" Dinah grinned at her, and threw a handful of popcorn. Just because. "Oooo! Here we go! Mood music!"

That was so much better than the episodes usually were. Really. Cellos. Great tympani. Shame the show couldn't live up to it.

Karla couldn't help but wince as Mason over-acted his way onto the screen. "Thank the Darkness for the catchup section of the episode," she mumbled. "I've got no clue what's been happening so far."

She also had no compunction about talking through the opening credits. "So...I've heard some troubling rumors," Karla said, shooting Dinah a sly glance.

Dinah was there after a delay, boo work and determined not to mope. Good-byes were starting, and they sucked, and Merlin wasn't here for the finale (boo!) but still. Dead girl!

"Foooooood."

Tony threw popcorn at her.

Dinah ate it, then threw more back at him. "What'd I miss? Tell me I didn't miss anything important."

"Some dead girl. Blonde. Very familiar," Tony teased.

"What?! No! That was supposed to be later! The writers said! I gave them Cheetos! And-- you're lying," Dinah accused him, throwing more popcorn. "Dude. Uncool!"

Tony snickered and threw popcorn back at her, ignoring the stuff that landed in his hair. "And you fell for it. Sucker!"

"I haaate you." Dinah threw more popcorn at him, then settled in to eat pizza too. "I'm way less gullible and flaily than I was this time last year. You're the only one that gets me every time. Jerk."
