Third Floor Common Room, Sunday evening

Andy had got back to Fandom after another visit with his brother (who was getting a little clingy Andy thought, but hadn't been able to bring himself to say to anyone) that afternoon and unpacked. He was sorry he'd missed the welcome picnic the day before but brother. Clingy. Really, he was going to have to do something about that, but since the new term was about to start and he'd have the excuse of classes to stay put for a while he felt he had some breathing room.

But he still was hoping to socialize and meet some of the new people so he made himself comfortable in the common room, with some munchies, and turned on the tv. Tonight was the season finale of The Amazing Race and even if no one else showed, he'd have a nice relaxing night unwinding and seeing who won.

"Yeah? Same one? Or a slightly different one?"

"I do not know yet," Raven said, shaking her head. "We did not speak at great length, but perhaps we will find out in the future."

"I can't imagine anyone not wanting to talk more to you," Andy told her earnestly.

Raven blushed, then smiled and lay her head against his shoulder. "It was a very hectic day," she said. "I am certain we will encounter each other again, when it is calmer and a better time to speak."

"There usually is. And the picnic can be really overwhelming for new people too," Andy said, as put an arm around her.

"I am much better at shielding myself now," Raven said, snuggling into Andy's side. "But when the new students arrive, they are so full of excitement and anxiety, and it is harder to block them out. But at least I am not as overwhelmed as I was a year ago, when I first arrived here." She could hardly believe it had been a year now.

"Time flies when you're having fun, huh?" Andy observed with a smile.

"They have been more fun since I met you," Raven said happily.

"Likewise," Andy said smiling. "I still sometimes have trouble believing that someone as beautiful as you would go out with me."

"Why would I not?" Raven said, slipping her hand into his. "You are sweet and fun and I think you are very handsome."

"You've had your eyes checked lately, right?" Andy joked.

"My eyes are fine," Raven insisted. "I am a healer. I would know if there was something wrong with them." She peered at him. "But perhaps I should check yours?"

"I know I'm just average," Andy said with a shrug. "I mean I'm not scaring any dogs or small children or anything, but compared to guys like Chuck or Sam, I'm... average."

"Different people have different ideas of beauty," Raven said. "You are not like Chuck or Sam, but I like you just the way you are. In fact, I am very glad you are not like Chuck."

"Then I guess I'm happy I'm average," Andy said, smiling.

Raven tilted her head up to give him a quick kiss. "I would not change anything about you," she said.

"Nothing?" Andy teased, after stealing another kiss. "Nothing at all?"

Raven thought for a moment. "Perhaps I would have you be here on the island more often on weekends," she said, "but I know you want to spend time with your brother, and I do not begrudge you that."
