Roof [Friday Evening]
The fact it was getting a little dark out up here wasn't the sort of things to deter Effy. She liked it, actually. It was comfortable, and besides, the roof was beginning to feel like an extension of her room, the amount of time she managed to spend up here doing absolutely fuck all. It was still warm, it felt like it was building up into some kind of storm, and damn she wanted to watch.
For once, she wasn't up here brooding, smoking, drinking or any of those other self-destructive habits she had and loved so much. Just leaning back and watching the sky to see where it would go.
[[It's a roof, and totally open!]]

"Hey, mind some company?"

Eventually, she shook her head, quirking a touch of a smile. "Free roof. Wouldn't want to hog the view."
no subject
She smiled at Effy to show she bore her no ill will. "Nice night for it." She sat down on the edge of the roof.
no subject
"But yeah. It is." While she caught the nod, it didn't take long before Effy's gaze was darting away. Avoidance was all the easier when she could look somewhere else. "Atmospheric."

"Calling it a lifesaver here too." Because this country was humid, and it was gross. She tried to stay in places with air con when it was like this.

Leda looked out towards the town. "I can't believe I've been here a year."
no subject
"Longest I've lasted at a school in a while."

"Something interesting in the sky?" he had to ask, peering at her when he realized she was there and just sort of looking up at the sky. "Cloud that looks like a chick with big tits?"
Eloquence was a talent.
no subject
"If you really squint and think like you, maybe."
no subject
no subject
"You're drunk," she noted, amused.
no subject
And him.
no subject
He really was a bad liar.
no subject
"What makes you think I'm drunk?" he asked, looking over at her. "I could just be content."
Because that was so common with him.
no subject
"Suppose you could be content..." But she suspected the alcohol played its part.

Moment or two of that and Effy reached up to snag the hand he was waving around at her stretching up to kiss him. Her preference for liquor wouldn't stop her from that one, he'd probably be pleased to find.
no subject
Now, he did fumble a bit with her hand, trying to tangle his fingers with hers. He eventually did manage it and without breaking their kiss but there was some fumbling.
no subject
It just wasn't happening.
no subject
He'd roll out the drunk excuse quick then but even he knew that wouldn't stop the inevitable teasing. As it was, he could feel that smile and tried to kiss it away by leaning forward and sort of pressing flush against her while he kissed her.
no subject
He'd appreciate that, right?
no subject
So, he was just going to slide an arm around her waist and pinch her back. It was a...pretty immature way to retaliate but he was drunk, fuzzy and not long on ideas.
no subject
It did inspire her to break that kiss for a moment, to murmur out a "What?" So innocent.
no subject
"Your innocent act needs work," Alex advised her, pulling a face. "Your as bad at it as I am."
no subject
"Your smooth act needs work." He was as bad at that as she was, apparently.

Which...solved nothing but he was working with less than half a brain and didn't much care.
no subject
At least she wasn't talking, squeezing his hand again just as a reminder and lean in against him. Just because he covered his eyes, didn't mean she wasn't still there being smug right in front of him.
no subject
Notice how he wasn't leaving and he was kind of leaning into her and still sounded more amused than serious.
no subject
no subject
Which made his fumble less...something.
no subject
"Not helping your claim there." Not in her opinion, anyway.
no subject
Back to that good, ole insult.
"And not really persuading me to stay up here."
no subject
"You... need persuading?" Wasn't getting that vibe from him.
no subject
"Yes," he answered even if he was reaching for her other hand, lacing those fingers with his and making no move to go anywhere. "Persuade me to stay."
no subject
no subject
"You didn't mess around today," he said and took advantage of that lean to try and snag another kiss from her. Uncoordinated or not, he didn't miss when he wanted to kiss someone.
Unless he was really damn drunk. Which he wasn't.
