Zombie Campfire [Friday Late Morning]
Today was bound to be a shitty day for Effy.
Carried around enough issues as it was, without them suddenly sprouting up in luggage all over the fucking place. Really didn't want to be dealing with any of this. There was a reason she liked her denial.
Island didn't seem to care, though. Suitcase labeled with 'watched sibling get hit by a bus' as a giant reminder of one of the worst moments of her life was just the first thing to pop up. Just great. It got a blanket thrown over it in no time at all. That left her with an easily hidden 'beat someone with a rock' backpack to throw into a drawer, and kicking of a 'defective parenting' overnight bag under the bed in her alcove. Well, that and the hope that vacating to the campfire outside would help.
Which no, just had her glaring at the large box helpfully marked 'trust issues' which got dumped in the soon blazing campfire with no hesitation at all. At least out here any baggage that showed up could be disposed of immediately.

After all, he had plenty more trunks back in the cabin.

Because when you didn't care about ANYTHING, EVER and were burning stuff just for the hell of it, it was important to practice proper fire safety.

Squall just stared at the fire, watching one of his ABANDONMENT ISSUES burn. It would probably be nice if the issues themselves burnt up, and not just the thing that was labeled as them. But if he cleared up his issues, would he still be himself? What was it that defined him as 'Squall'? And, if he became someone else, would he recognize himself? Would he like himself better?
...So, yeah, as far as Effy could see, he was just staring blankly at the fire.

... And for burning the crap that popped up. Like the tote bag of 'substance abuse to hide problems'. Which quickly joined his trunk on the fire.
"So. Living with you, huh?" See her make small talk while watching personal issues go up in smoke. And ignoring them. Firmly.

"Whatever," Squall replied. He wasn't all that good at small talk. "If I snore too loud, tough."
All thoughts of small talk disappeared, though, as he examined the pink sparkly hatbox he was holding labeled NOT AS DEEP AS HE THINKS HE IS. He snorted at it and wondered just what it was supposed to mean.
