Tuesday Morning | The Gardens
Cassidy had made her way up to the gardens again. It didn't matter to her that it was already starting to get warm and sticky out. The land needed love no matter how you may or may not feel.
She had dressed in another borrowed pair of trousers her brother didn't know he had lent to her and a mostly short-sleeved blouse. (Someone might need to take this girl shopping at some point.) She was careful to put cream on her arms and face so that she didn't get a horrible sunburn. She learned a long time ago how much sunburns could hurt and how she was prone to them with her fair skin and red hair and freckles.
She managed to get her unruly hair tamed (in a way) into a thick braid down her back and then set off to work among the plants. There were gardening implements nearby, but for now, she preferred to work with her hands. After putting shields around both of her hands to protect from the dirt and the plants, she put a light shield around herself and started happily moving about the dirt and plants.

But that didn't mean she couldn't spare some time to take a detour to the gardens, right? Right!
"Ah ha," she said cheerfully as she spotted a new girl. "I knew there was someone else working in the gardens."
Look, Ino was the one that had planted them in the first place. They weren't just hers any more, of course not, but Ino still knew her way around the garden very very well.

visible?shield. "That you couldn't means you've got good taste."no subject
The shields are invisible but someone who can sense magic might be able to sense they are there.. "I've always been drawn to the land even before I could walk." She smiled. "I'm Cassidy."no subject
"I'm Ino," she said, offering her hand to the girl to shake, should she want to. "You wanna explain a bit what that means for poor clueless me?" Her eyes sparkled with amusement.

Not, like, 'surprise, you're in a tree' or anything; she'd climbed up it of her own free will.
So Hayley peered through the branches down at Cassidy and spoke.
"What're you planting?"
no subject
"Nothing much yet. I'm just clearing out weeds and making sure the ones already growing here are healthy."

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Karla was also dressed in cast-off clothing. She had a wardrobe plenty big enough, but when it came to tasks where getting dirty and sweaty
not like that, omgwas inevitable, they were the perfect choice.no subject
"I can't speak for Cassidy," Ino noted, giving Karla a wave from where Ino leaned against one of the trees, half shaded and not particularly visible until she'd spoken. "But I think it depends on how you are at sharing."

She sounded so broken, yes.
Karla turned to look for Ino. The other girl's psychic scent has told Karla she was nearby (or, at least, had been until very recently), but that hadn't made her easier to spot.

"Now now," she said, "if you cry then people'll start to think I'm a bully and that's not fun at all."

"I'm a very delicate flower, you know," Karla assured Ino. "My feelings bruise so easily. Tears galore. I might not be able to help myself."

"Karla! Good morning, and you are always welcome in any garden. There is always room for another Queen."

"I don't think I'd be very welcoming of someone like that," she admitted. "I would try as Protocol demands, but..."
Because gardening was something she was very passionate about.

She paused.
"Hey wait," she said, with a hint of wtf in her voice, "she said there weren't unicorns in her world. How can she be from your world, then?"
