Treeline By The Cabins, Tuesday Afternoon

Today, the reserves group had been handwavily informed to meet near the treeline by the cabins. They'd also been informed to wear clothing that they didn't mind seeing get wet. The reason for this would probably be made perfectly clear the moment they gathered, considering the assortment of water guns and water balloons that were set out nearby.

Zack was grinning, with the biggest water gun he could find resting neatly on one shoulder as he surveyed the group.

"Today, we're going to combine a bit of what we've already covered, back when we had Jak and Triela show us around the guns, with a little bit of something new. You never know what kind of enemy you're going to face when the island gets invaded. Fandom has proven that much again and again. But one thing you should know is what sort of tactical advantage you can gain from your surroundings."

"And think three-dimensionally," added Kennedy, who had a much smaller pair of matching water guns in her hands and kept eyeing Zack's gigantoid one with a mix of envy and dubiousness. With a wry smile, since she still hadn't forgotten the rather dramatic lesson she'd gotten about it in Kaeleer, she kicked at the groundcover. "And keep the terrain in mind, too, especially if you're not used to stuff like fighting in the good ol' outdoors. Hey, we know it's freaking hot out, and we're making you run around in it, so-- water guns. But don't get the idea to just stand there and get hit to cool down, okay?"

"Same thing as last time," Jak agreed, "In reality, if you get shot, you're dead." These things were pretty simple. "Bonus points for anyone who rakes up a headshot count. Let's get some hair wet, guys."

Ooooo!

Ino was glad, now, that she'd actually bothered to pay attention to dressing properly for this--not that shorts and a tank top were awful to get wet, but it was so much nicer to actually be in a bathing suit and a pair of shorts, wasn't it?

She thought so. She contemplated water guns and balloons thoughtfully. What did she want to use? Hmmm?

"Clothes you don't mind getting wet" meant that Kurt had wrapped his watch in plastic, just in case.

As for the activity, he looked around at his peers and grinned.

Triela had, perhaps predictably, ignored any admonitions about changing her wardrobe. So she was wearing one of her usual ridiculously expensive hand-tailored Italian suits.

She didn't seem all that upset about the instructions though. She just planned to not get shot.

Squall jammed his gunblade into the ground point-first, since he wasn't going to be using it, and grabbed a cookie.

Goose opted to go shirtless for the activity, deciding that it was simpler than getting one of the few outfits he had wet.

Kurt grabbed a water gun in each hand, grinned, and squirted them at his neighbors. "Run, run, run, as fast as you can! You can't catch me, I'm the--" *BAMF!*

There was nothing but smoke where he'd been, but his laughter came from the nearby treetops.

Squall picked up a water gun that, although enormous, was still small in comparison to Zack's. It was a little more elaborate, though.

Then he closed his eyes and began to meditate -- or, at least, concentrate very hard.

When he opened his eyes again, he was immune to water attacks. Not immune to getting wet, just to being hurt by water. Hey, where he came from this was an important sort of thing.

Then he looked around, daring someone else to make the first move.

"Water guns?" Triela asked, eying Jak a bit doubtfully. Not that she disapproved, exactly. It was better than nothing, after all. Still...

Triela shrugged too, and then tossed in a 'what can you do' sort of sigh. "At least people will start thinking about space and cover... Hopefully."

And that was an important lesson.

"Point," Triela allowed after surveying the group. "And I suppose that water doesn't really encourage one to be careful..."

"I plan on not getting hit." Which probably explained the full-on suit and everything. That or she didn't really pay that much attention to directives about clothing from people who weren't the Agency.

"Well, that and I don't have any I'd be interested in wearing." Not without orders. Stupid bikinis.

Triela's eyebrows rose slightly. "So eager to get rid of me?" she asked. There might have been a hint of teasing in her tone, but then again, maybe not. This was, after all, Triela.

"With water guns?" Triela sounded amused. Because, well, he was right. Even with water guns she was rather looking forward to it.

"Well... I am looking forward to it," she admitted. Then she sighed. "Though I doubt many of them will learn much." Which didn't make it less fun, but did make it less... something.

There was no question about Triela's sudden grin being absolutely genuine. "Sounds interesting." And fun.

"Want to establish special rules, or just go for it?"

"I don't know... something that won't be over too quickly." Because just the two of them going after each other, well, they were good enough that someone would get a hit sooner rather than later.

Triela grinned again.

"Sounds like a plan."

Apparently she was going to end up getting wetter than she'd anticipated. But at least it'd be fun.

"See you in a minute then." Triela shot Jak a grin. "Watch your back." And then she jogged off toward a small stand of trees.

...was there a squirt barrel for Jak's Morph Gun? Because that would be cool-- anyway.

Kennedy, truth be told, was hoping someone did squirt her so she could shoot back. She could shoot back, and thus it was a vast improvement over buckets of ice water.

Hey, maybe she'd grab one of the long-range water guns and try to snipe people from the trees, just for fun, at some point...

Zack! Giant water gun!

It would be a good idea to approach with caution, unless you were hoping on getting very wet, today.
