2nd Floor Common Room / July 5 / Morning

Asuna was feeling pretty energetic today but she still felt she needed a little more kick, Asuna entered the common room, looked around the cupboards, found what she needed and proceeded to brew a pot of coffee. After a few minutes brewing, Asuna poured herself a cup.

Mmmm... coffee!

"Good morning, Asuna," Jonas greeted after he'd wandered into the common room, mostly awake and enticed in by the aroma of coffee. "You're busy early."

"Good Morning," Asuna returned. "I woke-up energetic today." She waved to the coffee pot, "Have some coffee!"

"I've never tried coffee before," Jonas admitted though it did smell good. Different but good. "How does it taste?"

"You haven't?" Asuna asked, surprised. She didn't usually drink coffee but it still surprised her. "It tastes very good, although it depends how you like to take it. Some people like it with a lot of cream and sugar and there are people who don't like anything on their coffee."

Asuna felt she needed to share this with Jonas and brought out two cups pouring coffee on both. She put some cream and sugar on one cup. "Here why don't you see for yourself."

"I've just basically stuck with hot chocolate," he shared, reaching for the cup of coffee and sniffing it carefully. "I've found that I really like how that one tastes. It's sweet."

And the coffee, while interesting, didn't smell sweet so Jonas didn't think it'd taste sweet. He didn't immediately drink it, still getting used to the smell.

"I don't blame you, I love chocolates." Asuna watched Jonas examine the coffee and added, "You know, some people also add chocolate to their coffee."

"...that doesn't dilute the taste of the coffee?" Jonas asked, holding the mug of coffee in one hand while he looked at Asuna. "Or it just makes it sweeter?"

"Hmm... not really?" She said, a little unsure herself but said with more conviction, "It does make it sweeter."

"Perhaps I'll just try the coffee as it is now," Jonas said and finally took a sip. It was sweet but there was an underlying bitterness, a taste that might be bad if it hadn't been attached to cream and sugar. He swallowed.

"It's...an interesting flavor," he said after a moment. "It's bitter but it's not bitter in an awful way."

"You'll get used to it," Asuna promised. "But, I guess you like the one with cream and sugar more? The one without is a lot more bitter."

Asuna was a little proud she was able to share something with Jonas.

"I do," he agreed, taking a few more sips. "Do you drink it without the cream and sugar?"

"Nope. I like it creamy and sweet." She proved this by adding another spoonful of sugar to her coffee. "I drank coffee without cream or sugar once and..." Asuna wrinkled her nose, "I never tried it again!"

"I think that would be too bitter and too strong for me," he agreed with a laugh. "I'll take your word for it and just keep mine sweet if I do decide to drink it again. Right now, I still do like hot chocolate more but this isn't bad."

"I think 'not bad' is a good rating for a new coffee drinker!" She sipped her very sweet coffee.

"Do you have classes today?"

"I don't know," Jonas replied, shaking his head. "My first name is tomorrow. What about you?"

"I have one this morning, I'm a little excited about it." She said then admitted, "And a little nervous too. I always have a bit of excess energy during first days."

"Why nervous?" Jonas wondered curiously. "Just because it's the first day of a new of a new class or because of what the class is?"

"Just because it's the first day of a new class," she answered. "It's silly."
