Asuna was feeling pretty energetic today but she still felt she needed a little more kick, Asuna entered the common room, looked around the cupboards, found what she needed and proceeded to brew a pot of coffee. After a few minutes brewing, Asuna poured herself a cup.

Mmmm... coffee!

"Good morning," Jonas said, greeting the other boy even if he didn't recognize him. "How are you?"

"I'm good," he replied. "And you?" He didn't seem familiar. "James," he said, indicating himself. "Are you one of the new students, too?"

"Jonas and no, I'm not," he said, shaking his head. "I've been here awhile now though I'm new to the second floor. I used to live one floor up. It's a pleasure, James."

"I'm on the third, halfway up or down." He shrugged. "Rather these dorms than the cabins."

"You don't like the cabins?" Jonas asked. He didn't mind them but, then again, he was used to those type of conditions.

"City boy," he said with a bit of a smirk. Rather hard to be a successful thief in the woods.

"An understandable reason not to like cabins," Jonas said, having figured out what constituted a city awhile ago. "How did you end up here?"

He grinned. "It was decided that I could use more education before court promotions. And yourself?"

"There was nothing left for me to accomplish at home," he said, being vague. "I'd gone through all levels of education there but decided I could do with more. This place provided it while being diverse and interesting."

James chuckled a bit. "So you had no choice either?"

"I don't think I'd call it that. It was my choice to arrive here," he clarified. "And it was my choice to leave home."

"The educational bit, that wasn't my choice but I think I would have selected that route anyway."

"Education never hurt anyone," he agreed. Well. Depending on the lessons and the punishments, too. "Are you from this world? There are many students from elsewhere."

"I...think so," Jonas said slowly, still not quite sure about that. "The place I'm from, home, it was very, very sheltered. I'm certain I'm from this world but I don't know for sure. We weren't allowed past our boundaries."

"Then it might seem a different world to you. It is to me." He shrugged. Different worlds happen.

"What's your world like?" Jonas asked, always interested to learn about different worlds.

"Rather quiet at the moment, though there is bound to be occasional problems with the moredhel," he said, speaking of the dark mountain elves. "The war is over. Peace and rebuilding, mostly." He shrugged. "Now is politics and more politics. And your home? What is that like?"

"Quiet. Peaceful. Sheltered. It's very...exclusive, I think is the right word," he shared, nodding. "We don't get any visitors and we only go Elsewhere supervised. If you grow up there, you tend to stay there the entirety of your life."

"Very," Jonas said, nodding. "I miss...certain parts but I can't go back and I've decided I don't want to either. I'm better here."

"It's a definite change for the better," Jonas confirmed with a light nod. "I hope yours has been too."

"Clean water out of wall pipes, good weather, and plenty of food. Much improved," he said with a laugh.
