The Dorm Grounds, Saturday Evening
Jonothon was sitting in the rain.
Why was Jonothon sitting in the rain? Mostly because it seemed like a very Jono thing to do. He'd had half a mind to head into town today, possibly to open up the Groovy Tunes just to pass a Saturday by in the company of some of his favourite recording artists. But then it had started to rain, while he was not more than halfway across the school grounds, and for whatever reason, he felt inclined to just sit down at take it in.
... Mostly by ducking under the nearest tree in the vain hope that it would keep at least some of the rain from soaking into his bandages, which had been rearranged to cover the clawed-up shoulder he'd gotten earlier in the week. His jacket wouldn't do much good in that regard. The shoulder of it was shredded, too.
If nothing else, he could certainly appreciate that it was cooler out thanks to the rainfall than it had been in entirely too long.
All in all, he supposed it wasn't terrible. Just bloody annoying.
[Yeah, it totally seemed like a sitting in the rain kind of day. The grounds are open for all your rainy day needs!]

So she was running and dancing and sometimes just standing there, eyes closed, face to the rain, soaking it all in.
It was a while before she even noticed anyone else out in the rain, and when she saw it was Jono, she gain a wide grin, waving a hand before happily bouncing over to see if he was enjoying the precipitation as much as she was.

Always difficult to tell, with Jono, who gave her a small nod hello and leaned back against the tree that was dribbling steadily over his head.
//Evenin', luv. Bit of a fan of th'wet, are you?//

Her brows lifted in that eager, expectant return of the question, to see if he was having fun, too.
Because he so looked like it.

//There are worse ways to spend an evening,// he allowed. //I'm not so much the running about sort, but at least it isn't as bloody hot as it's been out lately.//
You try walking around with a furnace in your shirt in July and see how much you dislike the rain after that.

Ariel chuckled a little again, shaking her head in a manner that suggested that he really didn't know what he was missing.

//They're leather, luv. I shouldn't be out here at all in these while it's raining. It'll be a bloody chore to get out of them later on.//

Well, she knew more about it than she realized, but not in the context of this conversation. Once she did realize, though, she'd probably wish she could tell Jono that, hey, at least it was just water, and not sea water with all the salt to add to things.

Well, that meant she didn't have much to do.
Deciding that the rain would not hurt her and that the Perk would be the optimal place to spend some time, Rosalind grabbed an umbrella (utilitarian black, of course) and headed out.
It was a familiar form under a tree that had her diverging from the path.
"What," she asked, in the sort of voice that implied he was being severely asinine in her opinion, "are you doing out here?"

//Sitting.// And with that came the sort of lopsided shrug that people gave when they were favouring one shoulder due to demon-inflicted wounds. //I don't believe there are any rules against sitting, luv.//

It was practically his birthright, sitting in the rain, wasn't it?
... Maybe?
//It's sort of peaceful, in its own way, anyhow.//

Oh well.
//I just didn't feel much like running at th'time, either.//

just the next in the line of women that Jono's milkshake brought to the yardhadn't left her room much in the past few days, just for class and to visit Hurley when he'd called, but there were people to she wanted to speak to, and one of those people was Jono."Hello, Jono," she said softly as she approached, the hood of her cloak pulled up to ward off the rain.

There was water dripping from the end of his nose. This was probably not the wisest place to attempt to wait out the weather. He ignored that much.
//How are you holding up, gel?//

"I wanted to thank you," she went on. "For coming with me...for everything you did. I had no idea that the Justice League would come or what my father would do, or I never would have asked you to risk yourself."
no subject
//You never had to ask,// he replied, evenly. //I told you, luv, I'd be there. I'm just thankful that we got you back.//

"I thought I was doing the right thing," she said, spreading out her cloak and settling under the tree. "I was terribly wrong. But I feared Azarath would be destroyed, and you all along with it."
no subject
Yes. This was Jonothon, admitting that there were things that he cared about.
Mark it on the calendar.

as it apparently did to every other girl with one name on campus. She pirouetted over to Jono and plopped herself down next to him,. The ground was a little muddy, but she didn't care.
"Think the old man is done snoring yet?" she asked.

//I seem to have inherited th'Groovy Tunes,// he shared. Which was actually old news, but wasn't entirely unrelated to why he was out. //I was going to head out that way, but then it began to rain.//

"Alice left?" Didi checked. "Too bad. She was sweet. How's being a boss feel?"

He liked Groovy Tunes. He did. But he had other places to be, too. And open one day a week wasn't exactly good for business.
