The Roof | Afternoon | Sunday | July 11

It felt like a day to get out of his room. Really, everyday felt like that but today more than others. He was getting that restless, walls closing in feeling that he tended to get every few months. It'd put him into a bad mood (though he hadn't gotten out of that from a few days ago) and made him snappy and irritable.

That, naturally, brought him to the roof and had him sprawled out on the edge of the roof, cigarette stuck between his lips, earbuds in his ears playing some raucously loud, and hand tucked underneath his head. It was warm and he'd probably get some sun but he wasn't one to burn. Benefit of coming from the Midwest where you either got sun or you moved.

At least he'd foregone walking along the ledge of the roof and probably causing a panic in a few people that didn't know him. He was being safe by contrast. Laying on the roof's ledge meant he'd have to roll over to fall instead of missing a step and falling. Completely safer.

[Roof's open. Summer is too long.]

Wes shrugged, trying to look cool. "Shall I bring it up, then?"

Wes got up and headed to the door, then went back down to his room and dug the bottle out of where he'd placed it in his weapons chest. When he came back, he sat down and handed the bottle of forty-year-old scotch to Alex. "Enjoy."

"I tend to reserve my drinking for when I'm secluded in my room," Wesley replied. "But by all means, feel free." He was just glad he could do something helpful for once.

"Just irritable," Wes assured him. "Although it would appear that you have the market cornered on that particular trait," he teased.

"Rugged good looks?" Wes proposed, grinning. "That's how I justify my own sex appeal, at any rate."

Wesley laughed. "Bully for you, then." Jokes about sex appeal aside, he wasn't aware of any person who'd ever been attracted to him. Alex, on the other hand, seemed exactly the sort of person girls would be attracted to. "The girls of Fandom are - all drawn to that sort, then?" he inquired.

Wesley blushed. "Yes," he mumbled, turning very red.

"Quinn Fabray," he answered in a mumble. "She's new, like me."

"She - she has a certain - I mean, not to emphasize her physical - ah. Yes?" he squeaked at last, helpless.

Wes bit down an instinctive impulse to say "That's not appropriate," and instead stammered for a minute before deciding on "Unlikely." Because no way would Quinn go for him.

"Not to my knowledge." Wesley was turning redder and redder by the second, so he decided to steer the discussion in a new direction. "And yourself?" He asked. "What is the nature of your own romantic life?"

Then he thought that that sounded a little - well, a little gay.

"Admirable," said Wes, having no other knowledge of gossip or anything to correct Alex with. "My most recent - ah, encounter with a girl of any kind was rather disastrous. Albeit not what one would term a relationship."

[identity profile] wesleynotponcy.livejournal.com 2010-07-11 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
"Disastrous in that it attained a truly remarkable level of awkwardness," Wes explained. Which wasn't disastrous at all, but the guy had nothing to compare it to.
