2nd Floor Common Room, Monday Night

After a difficult morning and an afternoon of fruitless wandering, Karla was more than ready to come back to the dorm and do something silly and mindless. Teevee sounded like an excellent plan for that, assuming she could find something decent on. Half the time she was watching, she could only find those stupid shows where people on stage cried and argued with family members about sex all the time.

Clicking one of the buttons that made it change, Karla flipped channels until she found something she recognized: a baseball game. Since Darkest Night wasn't returning to the air, Karla'd run out of reasons to throw popcorn at the screen. This was perfect!

After making a few calls to potential interested parties, Karla settled back down to watch the game. And if anyone asked, she'd tell them she'd specifically burned the popcorn to make it better to throw, dammit.

[Open like a Common Room!]

Tim grinned. "All Star Game!" He handed her a brown paper shopping bag. "It's the wrong game for this, but I thought you'd like it anyway. I brought it back from Gotham for you."

"The All Star game is where the best players in each league play each other." Tim hugged her back, still grinning. "You're welcome! Now people know who you're rooting for."

"They'd let you out on the field without a question," Tim agreed. "It looks fantastic on you."

[identity profile] boywonder03.livejournal.com 2010-07-14 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
"Technically, it's still cheating," Tim had to point out. "You'll just have to learn the rules so you can play fair."

[identity profile] boywonder03.livejournal.com 2010-07-14 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
"You're steamrolling it," Tim said. He flicked a piece of popcorn at her. "The other team wouldn't have a chance. You'd have to give them some magic, too."

Dinah had gotten one of those phone calls, and headed downstairs immediately. "Go Knights!"

"Did he now," Dinah said, shooting Tim a grin. "Awesome! He's got great taste, of course." She flopped down next to Karla, and sniffed. "Hmm. Experiment? Ammo...?"

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2010-07-14 04:52 am (UTC)(link)
"Boooooooooooooooooooo," Dinah said, almost making it a howl, if not a loud one. "You suuuuuuuuuuck." She grabbed a handful and threw it at the screen. "Man, I miss Tony... although he'd probably be American League. I can't remember which one the Leafs are." She grinned over at Karla. "And of course this burnt popcorn is enormously symbolic of incinerated dreams and hopes of the National League. Right?" Heh.

So he got her to wear a shirt he gave her, hmmm? HMMM.

It was a non-returnable gift that the girl had.

"Point taken. Oooo, helloooo, second baseman," Dinah crooned at the screen. "Hit me a homer, honey. Pleeeease?" She almost ate some of the popcorn, then caught herself in time.

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2010-07-14 05:20 am (UTC)(link)
"He gets a turn to bat when he's not out in the field," Dinah explained, grinning at her. Awww. New fan! Like Raven was a new fan of fanfic! Soon, the American culture would be distributed galaxy-wide! It was enough to make Dinah give her a spontaneous mini-hug.

"Three outs, and they switch positions again... and the GK second baseman is a hottie. Hit it hit it hit it ohhh did you see that?! NO HITTING HIM WITH THE BALL, STUPID PITCHER!"

[identity profile] boywonder03.livejournal.com 2010-07-14 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
"Hey," Tim smiled at Dinah. "How's it going?"

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2010-07-14 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
"Good! Well. Aside from some small weirdnesses." She cocked her head at him. "Ever heard of a Dr. Horrible?"

[identity profile] boywonder03.livejournal.com 2010-07-14 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
Tim shook his head. "Should I have?" he asked, making a mental note of the name.

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2010-07-14 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
"He's teaching Leadership class. Which... really, it's not a bad class. Well. Aside from the LexCorp product placement today," Dinah had to add.

EVIL.

"But yeah. I'm TA'ing for him. And he has Gotham Supervillain scrawled all over him in Magic Marker."

[identity profile] boywonder03.livejournal.com 2010-07-14 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
"Lexcorp product placement?" Tim frowned. "Do you think he's affiliated with Lex Luthor?" That would not be good.

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2010-07-14 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
"I didn't recognize half the other companies there, so I can't be sure. Darnit, I need to ask him more questions." Dinah shook her head. "He had a mock career fair for class today. With the students recruiting each other to their new world orders."

[identity profile] boywonder03.livejournal.com 2010-07-14 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
"Sounds pretty creepy," Tim said. "At least as the TA, you can keep an eye on things. If he's a danger, you can alert the people who know how to handle that kind of threat." You know. Someone experienced with Gotham supervillains. Someone, perhaps, with a close association to Batman.

Not that he knew anyone like that.
