Fifth Floor Common Room; Wednesday Afternoon [ 07/14 ].
After a day of way-too-fun-to-be-classes classes and wrapping up the present she was working on yesterday, Ariel was feeling excited and creative and needed to do something with her energy. Sometimes, the common room was a bust, sometimes not, but she figured there was at least one thing there that could keep her entertained for hours.
Silverware!
But when Ariel went to the cupboard with the silverware, she, with a gasp of horror, found it completely lacking! Where was the--
--oh, right. The other drawer. This time Ariel opened the correct one and contemplated dinglehoppers over splorphenfats.

(It's more likely than you think).
Luckily, Ariel was armed with a dinglehopper and so when she heard Rilla's question and turned around with a lifted, curious brow and spotted a

She smiled. "Are there any cute boys?"
She trusted Ariel to have noticed such things.

Eh heh.
She lifted up her hands.
You know. Silverware....
She had a problem, okay?

Yeah, Christian had no concept of what could be done with silverware other than eating with it or polishing it. And he couldn't imagine Ariel's sense of recreation extended to polishing silver.
"It's very nice silverware," he tried, tentatively, earnestly. "I've -- never really looked at it."
[OOC: Bah, timing. See you tomorrow!]

"I think that's for serving roasts," he venutred. "But -- it is rather interesting, isn't it? All ... streamlined and modern."

Christian was not going to want to talk about forks. So, the distraction of it taken care of, Ariel tilted her head and smiled, in her ever silent inquiry after how he might be doing.

"Oh! Ariel, hi!" she said when she spotted the red head. Then she signed the greeting.

"I'm good." she said. "How are you? What have you been up to lately?" She signed that as well. She'd also found that sign language can come back very quickly.
[Sorry for the delay]

When Leda finished, she smiled brightly, gave her head a firm nod, and gave an answer that might not have been entirely sign language that she knew of, but probably communicated things even better: a big thumbs up!
Then she signed: How....are...your...classes?

"They're good, challenging. I missed the end of the last term's though. You?"

Soooooooooooooo awesome, she signed, and, yes, she signed all those Os. They're just about the best classes ever. Today I had....sports and....beach. She had to think a little on those.
What do you have?
