Toffee Campfire, Friday Early Evening

The sun wasn't quite down yet, no, but Jono had gone through the pains of lighting a campfire (the good old-fashioned way, yes) and had made himself comfortable not too far off.

There was something about watching a fire with a smile on his face that he could totally get used to, he decided.

Well, that and S'mores. He could totally get used to S'mores, too.

You better believe that he was enjoying himself this evening, roasting marshmallows and singing. Loudly. He didn't even need to pull out his guitars for that!

"Think it'll all be humdrum in a week?" Didi asked mischievously. "Marshmallows, air, kissing ... all just kind of meh."

"Some things," Jono noted, pointedly leaning her way and giving her a devilish little grin, "will never end up being 'just kind of meh.'"

"Better not," she said, reaching a finger up to tap that devilish little grin. "'Cause if they do I'll have to find somebody who appreciates me properly."

The chances she'd risk it with another mortal were minute, and she assumed Jono knew that in every serious way. But right then, while things were normal and happy and good and they were about to float away from joy ... right then she'd pretend to be a normal girl, too.

And because he couldn't resist, Jono even clicked his teeth at Didi's finger playfully. Teeth! Clicking!

It was exciting!

"It wouldn't take you very long," he decided. "Anybody would be lucky t'find a gel like you."

"Probably, but I like you, so let's not find out," she told him, letting him almost catch her nail in his teeth.

... yeah, she was pretty much still on the side of finding the whole Jono-has-a-mouth thing exciting, too.

The novelty might never wear off! Yeah!

"Well, that works out quite nicely in my favour, then."
