Behind the Dorms, Tuesday After Classes

When the reservists met behind the dorms that afternoon, there was a conspicuous absence of a Kennedy, a conspicuous offness of a Zack, and, just to seal the bit where this was a meeting vastly out of the ordinary, a Jak up front. "So we, uh, got attacked last week," Jak began. For possibly the first time, he looked utterly out of his depth. "And we kicked some pretty good ass."

There was a slight silence, as if he expected someone to interrupt him at any moment. When it didn't happen, he continued.

"But next time anything like these guys shows up, we might have to kick even more ass. Maybe we didn't do it in the right way, maybe in some places we weren't organised enough. If you have something to bit-- share about what went, uh, wrong last week, step up and let us know."

Another one of those silences. Still, nobody interrupted.

"And it's probably a good idea to share ass-kicking stories. You might learn something. Good work working together on the asskicking," especially considering Jak's contribution had been to run off after the meeting and spend the entire weekend shooting things all by himself afterwards, "Keep up the teamwork, and, uh. Discuss. C'mon. You've all got to know better ways to blow stuff up than we used this time."

Inspiring, Jak. Inspiring.

"Or," Zack added, speaking up mostly because he was in no hurry to see the island go up in flames after any Jak speech in particular, "to take things down."

"Yeah. Sure. If you want them to get back up," said Jak. Dubiously. More than a little. With a slight undertone of 'don't be a wimp'. "But you heard us. Get chatting."

James was here for the cookies...and possibly for the other survivors' stories on how they fared.

Ino was curled up in her tree, scribbling in one of her notebooks and, upon hearing the discussion question today, curled up just a little more and decided that, no, really, she still didn't feel like it.

No thank you and all of that.

Alexander nibbled on one of the aforementioned not-quite-as-plentiful cookies and ruminated quietly, though it was not really the reserve leaders he ruminated on, but, rather, tomorrow's reserve meeting. Would they also be wanting to talk about the past weekend, and to what capacity?

Hopefully, he was just being too invested in his own personal drama while, for the most part, the world around him couldn't give two licks about his using magic, considering everything else going on at the time.

Asuna took a few cookies and watched the leaders worriedly.

If there was food, Firekeeper was going to partake of it.

She wasn't much one for ruminating, though.

Goose was there as usual and as per usual was hovering towards the back of the group and not eating the cookies.

While the cookies looked lovely, really, Maladicta was going to stick to her mug of coffee, thank you.

Over in the shade.

Ahh, not turning into dust. What fun it was.

And Zack was... you know. There. He had his sword and stuff. He'd probably be able to step in if anyone managed to cut off a hand or something.

... While talking. Yes.
