Shooting Range [Thursday afternoon]

Triela had been taking Leto's advice and recording her dreams, but it wasn't really helping them go away, so she wasn't sure it was helping.

The range usually helped her concentrate.

Except today it wasn't working. Her head was pounding and she couldn't draw a bead on the target. She scowled and set the shotgun down before drawing her pistol. Maybe she'd have better luck with that.

She managed to get a couple of shots wildly downrange before her hand spasmed wildly and the pistol fell clumsily to the floor with a clatter.

That was... definitely not good.

James thought that some range time with the crossbow he picked up from the underwater nightmare might set his nerves at ease.

"Are you well?" he asked, a simple question with a bit of nuance.

"...are you going to throw anything at my head?" James asked.

Look. It'd been quite a week. He may be starting an aversion to blondes.

James avoided rolling his eyes, as he might lose them should she recover her firearm. "I am getting better at dodging," he said, still tense.

"As are bolts and arrows. You're shaking."

Master of the obvious and man of danger. He quirked an eyebrow.

He glanced down at her hand, which was shaking like someone who'd taken a double dose of herbs that allowed the consumer to stay awake far longer than normal...at the cost of exhaustion and fine muscle control. "I could ask you to draw a line with a charcoal piece and it would be as crooked as a cat's tale shut in a window."

"That is not the point. Did something happen?"

James was not the best at fake Fandom familial relationships.

[tail, not tale in pvs ping.]

Okay, now he did roll his eyes. "Was something supposed to happen that did not?"

No, he wasn't going to let this drop. Why do you ask?

"Are you stupid?" Rosalind drawled, having watched from a small distance for a few moments. "You must be to think that it's a clever idea to practice while so obviously unwell."

[identity profile] give-areason.livejournal.com 2010-08-14 03:14 pm (UTC)(link)
"Because fine drops loaded weapons?" Rosalind asked archly. "And your shooting is dismal today."

[identity profile] give-areason.livejournal.com 2010-08-14 04:54 pm (UTC)(link)
"Not particularly," Rosalind said, "as you should have known better than to attempt practice in this condition in the first place."

[identity profile] give-areason.livejournal.com 2010-08-14 04:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"It ceased being morning hours ago," she replied snarkily. "And given your current condition, I doubt that your definition of fine constitutes actually being healthy."

[identity profile] give-areason.livejournal.com 2010-08-14 05:04 pm (UTC)(link)
"Then you've a very interesting definition of it indeed."

Yeah, because Rosalind was going to believe that.

[identity profile] give-areason.livejournal.com 2010-08-14 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)
"Liar," Rosalind snapped. "It is one thing to be prideful, it is another to be stupid when you cannot even do something you're relatively good at."
