The Roof, Monday Afternoon
Well, that was it for another term of workshops, then, and now there was a week to look forward to not a heck of a lot of anything at all.
Zack, of course, was going to kick that off by attempting to get in touch with the Director back in Midgar, to see if there was any important work for him yet. That phone call was met with no answer from Lazard, and so little success. That idea having fallen through, Zack decided to default straight to... Plan B.
...
The view of the clouds was way more awesome from the roof than it was down on the ground! And, in a rare moment of something not unlike planning ahead, Zack had even brought lemonade.
Now he was all set for whatever break week could throw at him, oh yes.
[Open roof, open post! Hi!]

Or if it would be better to slip back downstairs before anyone noticed her. She could take Yei out to the preserve as well, after all.

Too late, Hinata. You'd been spotted. Or, well, your tagalong had been. Zack totally recognized that kitten, and was now waving the both of you down!
"Heya!"
no subject
Person? Person! Purring time was now!
Hinata had the world's most cheerful kitten, yes.
"Hello," she said, smiling slightly. "I am glad I do not seem to be intruding."

A pause, and then he was reaching for the few plastic cups he had left.
"And I totally wouldn't have made so much lemonade. Want some?"
no subject
Hinata blinked. "I would not mind, thank you." She hadn't expected lemonade to be found on the roof, no. "And even in the preserve, well, perhaps the deer would have kept you company?"
That was Hinata's own form of mild playing around, yes.
no subject
... Okay, so maybe he'd run into the deer a couple of times. But not too much!
no subject
"I would think that'd be a bit disturbing," she opined.

Lemonade successfully poured, with only a bit of spillage, Zack was now offering Hinata the cup.

Before recoiling a bit at the smell.
"I'd have told you that'd happen," she informed her cat. "But you never believe me." Hinata smiled at Zack. "You sound like that's happened to you before."
no subject
"I sort of gave up thinking out loud while I was wandering in the preserve because of that. Sometimes talking can help you think, you know? But I totally forgot my train of thought when I looked up and saw all of those little guys just looking."

"And there's totally more room on the beach, too, if I want to practise," Zack agreed. "The preserve is better for just running around, if I want obstacles to avoid or something."

Accidental clear-cut logging. Oops?

Zack's conscience worked in weird ways when it came to wanton destruction.

"I wouldn't think they'd keep staring," she said slowly, "as most animals have a fairly decent survival instinct, I would hope...?"
no subject
"I don't know," he admitted. "They seem kind of.. dumb. I think maybe there's a reason that they're endangered, you know? They don't really have any natural predators on the island."
Except for invasions, maybe. Oh.
