Fifth Floor Common Room - Monday Evening

Kyle wasn't in the best mood, but he'd been in plenty of worse moods. Hiccup and Toothless had left all of a sudden, leaving only a note behind. Marcus was still a raccoon. He hadn't seen much of anyone else lately and with so little to do, the restlessness was building up. The noise of the TV helped, so he had that on in the background while he slowly wrote a letter to his brother. He didn't know whether it would get there, but he felt like testing the limits of the Fandom postal service. The prospect of more people leaving this week didn't make him happy either, but he'd accepted it and was focusing on next semester. He liked the normal school year better than summer and was looking forward to getting stuck into keeping himself busy.

"The remote and TV stopped working and it was stuck on the Golf Channel for hours," Bruce said. And it somehow brought blonde girls into the room. Apparently blondes enjoyed golf. Bruce didn't understand it, nor did he ponder it for too long. "I never found out how or why." And it made him a little nuts.

Kitty eyed the television. "I can't believe I'm actually like asking this, but in this town I have to: have you done anything lately to make the TV mad?"

"Other than ignoring it, no," Bruce said. "I have a feeling it was just one of those things that happens here. As much as I hate using that as an explanation for something...."

"Sometimes you gotta," Kitty nodded. "Because otherwise you might go crazy trying to figure out the real explanation."

Yes. Bruce go crazy. Heh. That's unlikely. "You sound like you're speaking from experience."

"I've had to send off a couple emails trying to explain what goes on here, and like, it's impossible to explain why sometimes," she said. "So I leave it out and they've actually stopped asking already. Maybe my explanations scared them or something."

"This despite the fact that you can walk through walls," Bruce said. "But I guess that's just normal. The rest of this stuff still isn't."

"Oh, yeah, and there's already like an explanation for that," she said with a wave of her hand. "Voids and people changing into things? Not really."

"What, 'magic' isn't an appropriate explanation where you come from?" Bruce asked. He counted it as appropriate. Just highly unsatisfactory.

"Uhh. Powers are appropriate," she said. "Magic is like a little harder to explain."

"I know what you mean. I took a class from a witch and did some intense independent study and still don't understand it past the surface level," Bruce said.

Let's stick to the important stuff. "You took independent study from a witch?"

"No. From an ancient knight who could transform into a demon. Apparently magic exists in my world," Bruce said nonchalantly. "The witch just taught a class here."

"Oh! You... I'm stuck on the ancient knight demon guy," she admitted.

"He and I fought the ghost of a Victorian thief, if that helps," Bruce said. "Or makes things worse."
