Fourth Floor Common Room, Monday Night

George was bored. And so George went to one of those common rooms, picked up the remote, and began channel-surfing.

One station was re-running the movie Hint, and nothing else seemed to be on, so she was going to go with it.

She rummaged in the kitchen to find microwaveable popcorn and settled in for the movie. People could join her, if they felt like it. It was a common room and all.

(Very open!)

Squall shrugged. "Whatever." He wasn't there to amuse others at his own expense, he was there to watch the TV and eat popcorn. "People suck."

"I'm not trying to run YOUR life," Squall grumbled. "Stop telling me what to do."

In other words, she was right and he knew it.

"Why do you care?" Squall countered. Seriously, she was all up in his business tonight. He didn't need advice, didn't want advice, and certainly wasn't going to let some person he'd just met tell him what to do.

That was Rinoa's job.

"I'm not you," Squall informed her. "And I don't need your issues dumped on me. If you want to change, change. Your life is your own. I'm fine the way I am."

He wasn't, really, but the more she insisted the more he'd resist.

Squall rolled his eyes. "Then start over. You want to do it differently, do it differently." Seriously. "Just don't project your feelings onto me." He glared at her. "I'm doing exactly what I want to be doing, and I'm not going to regret it later."

At least, he'd pretend really really hard until he stopped regretting it. Because regret was pointless.

So did Squall.

"Whatever."
