Dorms Lobby, Friday
Dolf had taken one look outside and known that this wasn't a time for him to leave the building. He wasn't a fighter; battle scenes just inspired in him blind panic that he really didn't need, not when he was trying to help.
But he'd stocked up on some supplies, just in case. And they could be useful. So by mid-morning, he had filled up the lobby with first-aid equipment, and food and water for anyone wanting to mill around.
He'd also left behind a few baseball bats - what little he'd been able to find in the way of weapons - and left them near the door.
And then there was nothing to do for him but wait, staring at the door and the windows and wondering if this horrible plague would ever pass, and hoping the other reserves would come through. He kept his phone on, just in case.

That ignorance wasn't going to last long now, though. Not when she came down to the lobby and spotted all the first aid stuff and everything. It made her stop and frown, looking almost a little annoyed.
"Oh what the fucking fuck is going on now?"
Eloquent.

He pointed at the baseball bats.

"What? Flying piranhas, seriously?" This damn island, ugh. Her shoulders drooped. "I'm supposed to go to work."

was good at repeatedly telling people to run as she herded them alongfelt she could be of better use keeping the even less fighting-inclined out of harm's way.She was hovering near the lobby doors, staff in hand, keeping an eye out for anyone who might need a short-range escort into the dorms.
. . . and occasionally popping out to thin the herd a bit if the flying fish got clustered too thick.

Dolf had a smile on his face that wasn't quite apologetic, but wasn't fully certain either. He was not good with fighting at all, and flying fish with teeth--
He had no idea.
"What are you doing?"
no subject
No, really, Xena, try and use your usual fishing technique on these things. Just try it.

"... Beautiful."
Somebody wasn't going to be doing any flying today.

"That's exactly what I was planning on doing," he replied. "I'm not really in any mood to get myself gnawed on by some nasty-looking flying fish."
He turned another frown out the door, and then shook his head. "Is there anything that I can do here to help?"

Not insignificant, really. Just... Like there was a lot more that he could be doing. Some other Warren in some other reality would have been all over something like this, he was sure.

"Those fish are flying," she said, trembling.

For some reason, she reminded him a lot of another girl he'd known; protective instincts set in. "Just stay in here," he advised, "Have food. Then go upstairs. The reserves are fighting them."
