The Roof | Evening | Saturday | September 18

On a lark, Alex had stuck his name in for Student Council just because he thought it'd be kind of hilarious to do and because he needed something to do. He didn't think he'd win and he really didn't think he'd end up president.

Telling someone like Alex that he was the president and seemingly giving him power inflated his already enormous ego. And that's why he was out on the roof, standing on the ledge and smoking. He was still irrationally angry at the world but hiding it better.

Right now, he was just enjoying his new title and new power even if he couldn't really order people to do many things. He still had it and that was fucking awesome. He'd probably even work enough to earn that title. Stranger things had happened.

[Roof's an open place, yep]

Fresh air was what he'd been looking for, but Kyle knew there'd probably be someone up here. He hid a smile when he saw who it was. "You don't seem like the council type," he called.

Kyle approached with a skeptical look. He took a seat a reasonable distance away, back against the ledge. "What about love for organizing dances?"

"Does this mean I can get away with leaving all of that stuff to you?"

"That's what the juniors are for, isn't it? We're seniors now. We're supposed to be leaders or something. That's what they say on TV anyway."

"You're the president," Kyle pointed out. "They'll have to listen."

Kyle shook his head. "No school at home, haven't been on one here." He shrugged. "I wanted to do something, you know, for the school. For everyone else. I think I could be good at it."

Ino laughed when she saw who else was on the roof.

"This a gathering spot for the seniors of StuCo?" she asked, amused.

"LA," Kyle replied, "but end-of-the-world future LA. No time for school. You're from somewhere more normal?"
intraspective: (oh neat!)

"Can I help?" she asked, wide eyed. "I'm good at plotting!"

Which was not actually a lie.

"They'd make you organize bake sales," Kyle said knowingly. Only he didn't know. So normal it's boring Iowa sounded pretty damned good to him with a house, parents, a car, a dog, going to school and worrying about algebra homework. For a month, anyway, and then he'd get restless. "If they try to make us organize bake sales, we'll have to take action."

"I'm taking credit for making the juniors do everything we don't want to do."
intraspective: (firelit)

[personal profile] intraspective 2010-09-19 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh sure," she said, laughing. "Take the best bit of the credit for yourself! We've got to at least look like we're doin' work though, or else they probably won't be too impressed--they bein' the teachers and Principal Winchester."
intraspective: (smile calmly)

"While looking pretty," she amended. "Which we can totally do. Maybe all we do is stick up the posters? Because that way we can claim we're doing our part in staying connected to the student body by being out and amongst the student body."

[identity profile] weetinyreese.livejournal.com 2010-09-19 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
"Sure we'll do work, but half of it is getting the important stuff done and the other half is supervising, making sure everyone else does their part right."

[identity profile] weetinyreese.livejournal.com 2010-09-19 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
"We'll have to keep them busy so they don't think of it. Go on the offensive," Kyle decided.
