On a lark, Alex had stuck his name in for Student Council just because he thought it'd be kind of hilarious to do and because he needed something to do. He didn't think he'd win and he really didn't think he'd end up president.

Telling someone like Alex that he was the president and seemingly giving him power inflated his already enormous ego. And that's why he was out on the roof, standing on the ledge and smoking. He was still irrationally angry at the world but hiding it better.

Right now, he was just enjoying his new title and new power even if he couldn't really order people to do many things. He still had it and that was fucking awesome. He'd probably even work enough to earn that title. Stranger things had happened.

Fresh air was what he'd been looking for, but Kyle knew there'd probably be someone up here. He hid a smile when he saw who it was. "You don't seem like the council type," he called.

"I have many hidden depths," he said, carefully turning around (he did not need to fall off the roof) to see Kyle. "My love of academics might be in one of those depths."

Kyle approached with a skeptical look. He took a seat a reasonable distance away, back against the ledge. "What about love for organizing dances?"

"I like parties," he said, shrugging. "And I've been to all the dances before. It's not like it's hard. Music, decorations, food, spiked punch, done."

"Does this mean I can get away with leaving all of that stuff to you?"

"Don't I get to delegate shit since I'm president?"

Alex smirked over at Kyle and turned around so he could see the island again. When he wasn't in his head, he could appreciate how nice it looked.

"That's what the juniors are for, isn't it? We're seniors now. We're supposed to be leaders or something. That's what they say on TV anyway."

"That...is a very good observation, my friend," Alex said, looking really pleased by that idea. "Think they'll listen?"

"You're the president," Kyle pointed out. "They'll have to listen."

[intraspective]

Ino laughed when she saw who else was on the roof.

"This a gathering spot for the seniors of StuCo?" she asked, amused.

"We're plotting the takeover, yep," Alex told her, nodding.

"Can I help?" she asked, wide eyed. "I'm good at plotting!"

Which was not actually a lie.

"I think there's always room for more help," Alex decided, finally hopping down off the ledge so he could lean against it. "Our first thought was delegating all the work to the juniors."

[intraspective]

"While looking pretty," she amended. "Which we can totally do. Maybe all we do is stick up the posters? Because that way we can claim we're doing our part in staying connected to the student body by being out and amongst the student body."

"Does that mean I gotta talk to everyone like some personable president?" Alex wondered, making an exaggerated face.

[intraspective]

"Nah," she said, smirking. "Just look haughty and aloof and delegate Kyle and I as the talkers. I like talkin'. Don't know 'bout Kyle."

Really, if he wanted a senior to rely his rules, she was totally fine with that.

Ino liked being bossy. So sue her.

"I can look haughty and aloof easily." He tended to act like that at least once a day. "What kinds of things do you think they'd wanna talk about anyway?"

[intraspective]

"The students?" Ino wandered her way over to the edge of the roof and, with a shrug, hopped up on it. Pfft, danger what danger? "Either they're goin' to be wanting to push their own agenda, complaini' 'bout something we did, or wanting to know what we're plannin', I would guess."

"I'm taking credit for making the juniors do everything we don't want to do."

"Oh sure," she said, laughing. "Take the best bit of the credit for yourself! We've got to at least look like we're doin' work though, or else they probably won't be too impressed--they bein' the teachers and Principal Winchester."

"Sure we'll do work, but half of it is getting the important stuff done and the other half is supervising, making sure everyone else does their part right."

"You done this before?" she asked archly. "Can't argue with your division of labour though."

"Working as part of a unit can't be that different from a council can it?" He honestly had no idea, but he was hoping he could draw on some experience.

[intraspective]

"It's a bit different bein' on top," she said slowly, considering that. "You got much experience with bein' on top in a unit?"

"Some," Kyle nodded. "Especially when it comes to planning. What experience do you have?"
