Salle, Wednesday Morning.

Most people, when going down to the salle, tended to wave around Very Pointy Things.

Makita was not Most People on a good day, and today was definately a good day. She was dragging out the rather dusty and oft-ignored gymnastics equipment. The uneven bars and the balance beam got a good cleaning, first, before she kicked off her shoes and started going through a quick warm-up to stretch out.

A few minutes later her hands were chalked and Makita was up on the beam, going through a basic tumbling routine before working her way into a flight series.

[Open salle is open!]

When he wandered by the salle, Proto stuck his head in to see who was in there. He was a bit surprised to see Makita, at least in the middle of a routine. It had... been a long time.

He smiled slightly to himself and tried to slip quietly into the room to sit against the wall and watch.

Like she wasn't going to notice or something.

Proto pushed himself to his feet and smiled. "Yes, ma'am."

He moved across the floor and settled into position. Fortunately, his new assignment required him to watch her intently. Which was fine by him.

"Is this one of those 'like riding a bike' things I hear people talking about?"

"Under fire," Proto agreed with a fond laugh. "But it's not the same. You do this because..." he trailed off with a shrug. He wasn't sure why, really. He just knew that, like this, she was graceful and beautiful in a whole new way.

Proto smiled, and he nodded. "You're perfect," he pointed out with a cheeky sort of grin.

Not that he didn't usually think so, but watching her cut loose like this, well...

"That sounds familiar," Proto agreed softly. "And I've never known you to do anything by halves."

"That sounds funny coming from someone your size," Proto teased. Which was A) silly, since he wasn't all that big himself, and B) dangerous, because this was Makita he was needling.

"Like you need those things to do that," he laughed, following her movements so that he'd be in place to spot without being in the way.

"You saying I couldn't hold my own, Makita? Because that's what it sounds like to me." That sounded like a challenge.

"It's... like you actually know me," Proto gasped, clutching his hand theatrically over his heart to mark the hit. "That said, I'd be glad to prove you wrong on the knowing-what-to-do thing."

"Ah." Which wasn't a denial. "That's a good thing, right?"

[identity profile] make-the-shot.livejournal.com 2010-09-22 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well, you've never complained about it before..." Mentioned? Yes. Complained? No. "So... yes?"

James was one of those Very Pointy Things people, and was wearing his sword when he entered the Salle this morning. He stopped as he saw the equipment littering the Salle in place, and waved as he caught sight of a person inside.

(ooc: phoneping at work. Slowplay?)

James applauded softly when she finished. "Impressive," he said, eyebrows raised.
