The Gardens, Mid-Afternoon

Cassidy had given up on dressing like a Queen today and her mother had laughed at her about it with great affection. After breakfast and Devra had visited some of her teachers, she had met her daughter at the gardens as asked.

"And this is where I spend a lot of my time, and no I promise it's not all of my time, but they're such nice gardens, Mother. I love working in them and I keep making all kinds of friends or having nice discussions when I'm here..."

Karla sent a psychic brush of love and concern Raven's way. She had an idea what Raven must be feeling like this weekend. There was a difference between Arella not being here because she didn't wish to while still on Azarath, and her not being here because she was trapped in with Trigon.

"You okay?" she murmured, coming to stand by her friend.

Raven greedily and gratefully drank in the love. "I...have been better," she said quietly. "I cannot deny this weekend has made me think a great deal of my mother."

"I'm not surprised," Karla said, giving Raven a sympathetic smile. "It makes me think of mine, too, and I have a guest. Though..." she dropped her voice in a conspiratorial whisper, "...if you want someone to interrogate your teachers and grumble and fuss, I'll be happy to loan you Morton for a bit."

Raven smiled despite herself. "I am used to Professor Skywalker grumbling and fussing on my behalf," she said. "Though to have another do it might prove interesting."

"Really, you've never lived until you've been fussed over by Morton," Karla teased, going for the hard-sell. "It's a lot of fun. I'll be happy to let you take him off my hands for a few hours. Because we're such good friends and all."

Raven eyed Karla. "I would not want to cause you any hardship by you missing out on his presence," she said.

"It's no hardship to know that I am helping one of my dearest friends," Karla said piously.

"Then by all means, I must accept your offer," Raven said.

"I'll be happy to send him over to you," Karla said, nodding. "Really. Whever you're ready. As long as you want."
