Behind the Dorms, Tuesday After Classes
There was nothing at all awkward about this meeting today. Nope, nothing awkward at all. Even if Kennedy somehow managed to look everywhere but Maladicta's direction.
"So, everybody survived Parents' Weekend," Kennedy noted, scratching behind one ear. Nice choice of words there. Really. "Good to see, 'cause, uh... it was questionable there for a while. Family and guardian types can make you crazy, we get that. Like if they're not so down with you doing what you do, or kind of wigged out by some of your classmates just being who they are, or..."
Keep talking yourself into a hole there, Kennedy.
"Anyway, point being, we made it, right? That's good. But if it was a stressful weekend, we get that. So it's a decompression kind of day. Talk it out if you want to, figure out ways to keep from going crazy, all that fun stuff." Look, she hadn't exactly planned her part of the speech. Not because it was awkward or anything, though.
And Maladicta was staying on the other side of Zack for now. Just in case. "While it wasn't exactly an invasion like the piranha, I'm sure the appearance of family here can be about the same level of stress." Or more. Probably more! "But, like Kennedy said, today we'll be relaxing a bit after everything this weekend."
Even though Maladicta hadn't had any guests... Nevermind that now!
"We have coffee--" Sweet nectar of life. "--and biscuits from in town. Not made by anyone here." That last part couldn't be stressed enough.
"And," Zack added, a little weirded out by all of the awkwardness, but kind of terrified to ask what in the world it was all about, here, "there's a bunch of pool noodles here today, if any of you want to use them to smack some of your frustrations out against walls or trees or the gate or one another!"
He'd grabbed a pink one. It was perfectly manly, thank you.

Arrive! Mingle!
Re: Arrive! Mingle!
She had no particular frustration with Parents' Weekend to work out, having missed it, but she was watching the ...pool noodles... with mild amusement as she sipped her drink.
Re: Arrive! Mingle!
So she spent most of the time attempting to work the kinks out.

Yeah, that tree was never going to threaten anyone again.
Talk to the Leaders!
[When they tag in!]
Re: Talk to the Leaders!
And ate cookies.
And if it came right down to it, he was fully prepared to beat either of them down in a flurry of hot pink foamy doom if things progressed beyond awkward, or something.
Re: Talk to the Leaders!
...okay, yeah, it was awkward, but not as much as it would be if there was hot pink foamy doom (really, Zack?) involved.
So that would be Kennedy, continuing to not look Maladicta's way, hanging onto a purple pool noodle and totally looking casual.
Re: Talk to the Leaders!
Noticing Kennedy also looked pretty awkward, he went over and, without preamble, announced, "I met your Watcher."
Re: Talk to the Leaders!
Re: Talk to the Leaders!
A few individuals sprung to mind. Gwendolyn Post, that means you.
Re: Talk to the Leaders!
"She's actually pretty cool," Kennedy conceded. She had to be; she'd put up with Kennedy all this time and (at least as far as anyone could tell) not succumbed to any serious vices. "Hopefully she didn't tell you any horror stories about me."
Because there was a good chance if she did, she hadn't made them up.
Re: Talk to the Leaders!
And damn, now he was starting to wish he'd asked for some.
"I believe she also spoke to my father as well, so - er - my apologies. To her. If you'd like to pass those along."
Re: Talk to the Leaders!
"She mentioned that. I think she kind of enjoyed it," Kennedy told him. "By the way, she sorta chewed me out for, as she puts it, pestering you into training with me. I'm supposed to apologize for that."
The way she said it, you could tell she didn't get why.

Caaaasually.
"Kennedy."
Re: Talk to the Leaders!
She cleared her throat and slowly turned to look at Maladicta, and please ignore that really, really protracted second of hesitation, okay?
"Maladicta. Uh. Hey."
Absurdly, it occurred to her that she really should've asked Constance if there was protocol for apologizing to a vampire you didn't mean to stake (well, sort of didn't mean to) who got better anyway. Just for the look on Constance's face.
[[and i flee for home in rain, so back in a bit!]]
Re: Talk to the Leaders!
"Is this going to be awkward?" she asked finally. "I'm not terribly good at awkward."
Mostly by virtue of simply ignoring or avoiding it! It was totally possible to do back home.
Re: Talk to the Leaders!
Look, it was supposed to be a staking gesture.

For, you know, a pair of sort of teenage girls and all.
But Maladicta was there in the shade with a pool... noodle. Weird.
OOC!
... I like bringing things around full-circle, okay?
