Fifth floor common room [Wednesday evening]

Rilla had turned on the television, mostly for background noise as she attempted another batch of cookies, but the cooking competition had caught her attention.

"Why would you make corn into a snow cone?" she asked aloud. "And what is a snow cone?"

The cookies were going to be charcoal if she didn't remember they were in the oven soon...

Bruce walked into the common room to spot Rilla and smell something cooking. "Rilla," he greeted. "What are you making?"

"I'm hoping I reminded you before they burned," Bruce said.

"I'll take one, just because you made them," Bruce said. "But I usually try not to eat too many snacks."

Bruce took the cookie and bit into it. "It's not bad. A little over-done, but it's not very noticeable."

"And I don't know that I'm really one for dressing up and asking for candy. If I really want some, I can afford it."

"Do you have any costume ideas in mind?" Bruce asked.

"You put ice cream ina snow cone, which is made of corn." Zatanna knew that much. "So I would say that it's a ver good reason to turn the corn into something that's not popcorn, don't you think?" Not that popcorn was any less awesome. "Good evening, by the way~"

"Zatanna," Bruce greeted. "How did you do with the bombs in class earlier?"

"Ah well, I turned the thing into a toaster, hehe." She would try to look as innocent as possible now.

You can call her a cheater, Bruce.

"Did it spray paint if you pushed the lever down?" Bruce asked.

"Peter and I didn't try to test it. I really don't think it would have been a good idea to test it; what if it exploded." Not with her clothes in the line.

[identity profile] willbethenight.livejournal.com 2010-10-28 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
"Couldn't you push it down magically?" Bruce asked.

"I-Okay, you scary smart."

Like a superhero!

"No, just extremely curious," Bruce said. "I probably would have used a stick to depress the lever if it were me."

"I'm curious, you make the questions people usually don't. Like a detective." Someone had missed Sherlock, apparently...

"I think the green stuff in the cone is the ice cream, Rilla." But she hadn't seen it so sure couldn't be categorical. What else could it be anyway? "There all kinds of ice cream around, you know? Green isn't an exception."

[identity profile] talks-backwards.livejournal.com 2010-10-28 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
"Hmmmmmmmint?"

She didn't get it either, Rilla. "I just prefer a vanilla or chocolate ice cream, nothing that fancy."

"Well, ice cream is one of the five things I can make without burning down the kitchen." Boiled water was another one. "So I could always give it a try? Ice cream and cookies...I like how that sounds."
