Third Floor Common Room | Sunday Evening | Halloween

Peter was way too old for Trick or Treating, but he'd still dressed up in a helmet and Bruins jersey. With a couple pizzas set out, he settled in to switch the TV to some weird horror movie about a werewolf. This would be the first of the scary movies for the night. He'd find others on, but right now he liked this one.

After all, that one guy looked rather handsome.

Lindsay did not feel like going out for Halloween, but she didn't want to stay in her room all night either. That's why she ended up in the common room a floor below hers.

"Nice costume," she said in greeting. "Did you get that at the sporting goods store?"

Her attempt at a costume consisted of cat ears on her head and whiskers painted on her face. Lame, but at least it was something.

"The helmet, yes," Peter said. "The jersey is actually mine." He smiled. "Nice ears."

"You did not buy it on a day I was working. I feel betrayed," Lindsay said, though it was clear she wasn't being serious. "I like to keep things simple. I wore these once while helping my mom hand out candy."

She was not going to mention last year's disaster.

"Well, I could hardly surprise you with my costume if I bought it right in front of you, could I?" Peter said. "Want some pizza?"

Lindsay grinned in amusement. "I never say no to pizza. Or bad horror movies. What is this?"

"No idea," Peter admitted. "Something with a werewolf and attractive young people. So, exactly what I want to watch on Halloween."

"Sounds like every horror movie," Lindsay added. "Stupid people checking out the dark basement because they heard a strange noise are a requirement, too."

Horror movie plots never changed, apparently.

"Hey, I'll admit, I check out weird noises in the basement on occasion. Lucky for me, I don't live in a horror movie," Peter said. "My world is just plain normal."

Oh, what little he knew.

"Yeah, same here. My world is so normal that it's mind numbingly boring at times," Lindsay said. "But I guess I'll take that over a horror movie existence."

"Yeah, I've got a feeling I wouldn't survive most horror movies. Even though I'm smarter than any horror character, that just means I'd be the first to die before we knew what was going on," Peter said.

"I'd like to think I'd survive. Or at least be the evil genius causing all the mayhem," Lindsay said with a chuckle.

Peter gave her an amused look. "You have evil machinations I should know about?"

"If I do, I'm not gonna tell you," Lindsay replied, raising an eyebrow. "That would defeat the purpose of becoming an evil mastermind."

Alex had decided her need for candy out weighed any unspoken age limits as far as Trick or Treating went, so she'd handwavily spent the morning loading up on candy. Still in costume (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v114/StargateAddict/Alex/costume3.jpg) (it helped that it all had come from her closet), she wandered into the common room with her stash.

"Scary movies and pizza? Best common room ever." Now with the added bonus of an overabundance of chocolate.

"Hey Alex," Lindsay said, waving. "Cool costume. You'd fit right in at a Grateful Dead concert."

That was meant as a compliment.

"Hey Lindsay," Alex replied, with a wave and a smile. "Thanks. I was inspired at the last minute." And it worked. "Care for some candy?"

There was more than enough to go around.

"Sure. It'd be wrong not to accept candy on Halloween," Lindsay replied, grinning.

"My thoughts exactly," Alex agreed, offering out her bag of moddable candy.

Lindsay snagged a mini Snickers bar. "Thanks. I should visit this common room more often."

"You definitely should. It's the best one in the dorms after all," Alex replied.

"If there's pizza and candy here often, I can see why," Lindsay said.

"I usually think the common room I'm in is the best ever," Peter said. "And you're bringing candy, so we're getting even better."

"Something we have in common then," Alex smirked. "Third floor is the best for a reason, after all. Feel to snag some candy if you want," she offered, putting the moddable candy collection on the table.

"Thanks," Peter said. "I'm still kind of new to the floor. But I'm sure I've knocked up its cred a bit."

Oh so modest, that Peter Bishop.

"Anytime," Alex nodded. "Oh, the third floor's cred gets bumped up every time someone moves here. And I think your cool factor goes up too. It's kind of automatic," she joked.
