Behind the Dorms, Tuesday After Class
Wasn't it refreshing to be having today's Reserves meeting outside? Outside in the sunshine, with the trees turning and the soft tickle of pollen on the breeze?
"Hey, guys!" Really, it wasn't possible for Zack to get much more antsy than he usually was, was it? "Today we're going to cover some more physical drills, working on hand-to-hand combat. There are plenty of techniques to choose from, from speed-based martial arts to strength-based grappling, and they all have their benefits. If you don't know your fighting style, that's fine! You can partner off and practise today, after Maladicta and Kennedy give us a quick demonstration!"
This couldn't possibly go wrong!
Of course not! Why would there be anything wrong with two girls demonstrating hand-to-hand combat techniques? Other than... oh dear. Was that mud on the ground in that only patch that was in the shade and therefore safe for Maladicta to, oh, do anything in?
"One of the most important things to remember is that there will always be someone stronger or more skilled than you," Maladicta said, taking off her jacket so it wouldn't get mussed. Even though, being a vampire, it would only serve to enhance the look. "Kennedy has more training than I have, for instance."
"And Maladicta's stronger than I am," added Kennedy, shrugging her hoodie off, and exercising an amazing amount of discretion in just leaving the explanation at that. "So she's got one kinda edge over me, I have another over her..." Wow, Kennedy, pick less picturesque prepositions. "Anyway, it's a whole thing."
She was all distracted, and words were all... evasive. "So screw the explanations, let's just go for it. Also, since this might get messy today?" She eyed the patch of mud. "Not that we're keeping score, but you might be, so bonus points to you if you partner up with someone for cleanup afterward. 'cause... fun."
Which meant this was the best time for Maladicta to tackle Kennedy into that mud. It ended up less 'graceful predator' and more 'Girls Gone Wild', unfortunately. Okay, not so unfortunate at all for most people watching.
And Zack... Zack was going to just stare.
"So, uh... get to it, guys?"

Arrive! Mingle!
...
Yes!
Re: Arrive! Mingle!
Re: Arrive! Mingle!
The cookies weren't helping neither.
Re: Arrive! Mingle!
Of all the weeks not to have a boy or girl friend.
Re: Arrive! Mingle!
...and what the heck was up with their leaders here? Or did she just have sex on the brain?
Re: Arrive! Mingle!
And yet there were pretty girls rolling in the mud. She should be taking hand-to-hand combat notes.
Hand to something.
Her notes probably shouldn't include the word pretty. Also she should probably write them down instead of just thinking them.
Re: Arrive! Mingle!
At least that's what he thought, even four cups in and it still wasn't helping.
Pair off and Fight!
Re: Pair off and Fight!
Still,it was just combat, right? What...could possibly go wrong?

What?
Talk to the Leaders!
Re: Talk to the Leaders!
... What? It looked like fun!
But he'd settle for leaning up against a tree and watching. And maybe keeping an eye open for people who wouldn't mind grappling with someone with enhanced SOLDIER strength, while he was at it.
Re: Talk to the Leaders!
Clinging to her coffee like it was a lifeline.
*It was a vampire thing, just go with it.
Re: Talk to the Leaders!
He was not so much here for the reserves, if one was honest and Faramir tended to be. No, since yesterday he had been thinking of someone much to often and while he was not inclined to share the exact nature of his thoughts, he found himself here either way.
He had however not expected the state in which he found her and he hoped that she would forgive him for the moment's staring before he managed to find words. "Should I ask what happened?"
Re: Talk to the Leaders!
"Oh, just a demonstration of hand-to-hand combat," Maladicta replied. Had it been anyone else, there might have been a hint of pink creeping over her cheeks. Thank the gods for being a vampire and above all this!
Re: Talk to the Leaders!
"In the mud?" he asked. He was tempted to reach out and wipe some of it off, but he was doing his best to resist the urge for now. At least he was no longer staring at the rips. For now.
Re: Talk to the Leaders!
It had been very vigorous, Faramir. Very, very... vigorous.
