Fifth Floor Common Room, Tuesday evening

Bruce could be out of his room without feeling the need to find a more private place with the first person he saw. It was a good feeling. A good enough feeling that Bruce was willing to actually risk messing with the television in the common room again. But first? Threats.

"If you act up on me, I will end you," Bruce whispered while kneeling in front of the set. "There's a window right there. I will throw you out of it. You will be destroyed. And then I'll buy a new TV for the floor. I can afford something that will make you look like you're a black and white set. Nobody will miss you. So behave, or you'll force me to prove that I'm serious."

Bruce settled into a seat on the sofa and turned on PBS. It worked just fine. "I'm glad we could come to this arrangement," Bruce said with a bit of a smirk.

Good job badgering the inanimate object into working, Bruce.

[OOC: Much like the writing utensil I use exclusively for writing the third vowel, this post is open.]

"That's not quite the lesson I think we're supposed to be learning," Elphaba said. "Fake children don't make real parents."

Zatanna shrugged again, lifting an eyebrow in confusion. "Then...? Annoying children, fake or not, were perfect to give one a feel about being a parent."

"I think that's the idea, at least," Elphaba said. "Not to teach us how to be parents, but the feeling of what it's like. In case we were to let our hormones get the better of us."

"Oh."

That didn't make it remotely better. Not even close. "I think I migth fail this one..."

Elphaba gave Zatanna a puzzled look. "I doubt that," she said. "Why exactly do you think you'll fail? You've not done anything too horrible."

"Weeeeeeeeeeeell...I haven't done anything. Pretty much the same as locking them somewhere, but at least Squall took care of them. Ah, whatever, I need to apologize with him for leaving those two on his hands."

"I think you may be too hard on yourself," Elphaba said. "I mean, I think you're not putting enough faith in Squall. Unless he set them on fire and danced around them while singing a war song or something equally strange."

"Yeah...but I didn't do anything." She wasn't that concerned in reality, but hs felt bad for not helping Squall. "And I certainly hope he didn't do anything silly...or strange. Damn, those are pretty strange examples."

"I was trying to think of the least likely thing for him to do," Elphaba said. "Not that I know him at all. Was he a good partner?"

[identity profile] talks-backwards.livejournal.com 2010-11-18 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
Zatanna put a hand on her chin, considering what she knew of Squall. "He...seems to sulk a lot, but also looks rather responsible. I don't think he destroyed the droids...but he surely had a rough time?"

"Then perhaps an apology is in order," Elphaba said. "A small token gift, as well."

"You are right. What could I get for him?" Something small, yet meaningful. "Hm, I'll need to think this over."
