Girls With Guns - Shooting Range [Wednesday afternoon]

When the gun club members arrived today, they'd been ~~handwavily~~ informed to wear old clothes that they didn't mind ruining.

"Using firearms is a privilege and a responsibility, and if we haven't beaten that into your heads yet, today ought to do it," Makita chirped at her classmates. "Today? We're doing basic upkeep on our range. We use it, so we care for it. This means washing down the counters, repainting, sweeping, and replacing targets and supplies."

Triela nodded at Makita in approval. "We're doing this for two reasons. First, as Makita mentioned, to remind you that this is a privilege. Second, to remind you just how destructive a gun can be. Some of today's clean-up will be from normal wear and tear, but a lot of it is going to be bullet damage. Pay attention to the walls, floors, and ceilings at the far end of the range. Look at the damage done at the shooting benches from recoil. It's important that you don't forget how much damage we're capable of doing."

"We've got plaster for hole-patching, paint, cleaning supplies, the ~~moddable~~ works," Makita agreed, already rolling up her sleeves and grabbing some plastering tools. "Let's get going, comrades!"

Momoko had been a bit confused by the request to wear old clothes, but she'd complied. Sort of. She was at least in clothes that she was willing to get dirty?

If she'd known they'd be cleaning, she'd have brought something to cover her hair, though! She stood off to the side, braiding it so it wouldn't get dirty or in the way.

"Surprise," Triela said with a small smile.

Momoko grinned, not pausing in her braiding. "Triela! You can remove your jacket?!" she teased.

Triela rolled her eyes. "Funny, Momoko. Real funny."

She sounded amused, though.

Momoko laughed. "Hey. I haven't seen you dressed casually for a while. It looks awesome!" She finished the braid and tossed it behind her. "So are we really supposed to learn from the cleaning or is that totally an excuse to get us to do it?"

"There are always lessons to learn," Triela pointed out. "And taking care of your space is an important one."

Controlling ones environment...

"So it's totally an excuse," she smiled and rolled up her sleeves.

"You think we couldn't have gotten someone else to do this?" Triela challenged with a tiny little grin.

"No, I think you didn't want to," she countered, still smiling. "Putting us to work was totally your plan all along. Do we really get to repair the walls and repaint?"

Triela just rolled her eyes. Then she nodded. "Yep. Someone's got to do it, and we use the space more than anyone else, so..."

Momoko's grin widened and she bounced eagerly. She wasn't often allowed to paint for other people. "If the barriers and walls in the lane that I usually use end up being pink, it's totally not my fault, okay? Co~in~ci~dence!"

"Uh huh."

It didn't sound like Triela believed Momoko one bit.

Triela didn't have to believe, just repeat it when asked. If. IF asked. Yes.

"Honest! I'm totally innocent! Or will be innocent. If it happens." She'd been joking but now she wondered if there was any pink paint...

"We'll see." And of course there wasn't pink. Triela was fully aware of Momoko's... proclivities.

"Mean!" Momoko laughed. "That totally sounds like I'm going to be lifting and moving heavy stuff and never allowed near a paint brush."

"Huh. Now there's an idea!" Which she totally hadn't thought of before!

More laughing, and Momoko was throwing her hands up in surrender. "Fine! I'm off to help move furniture."

...

"Let me know if you need me to do anything in particular, okay... 'Smelly'?"

Triela's eyes narrowed and she gave Momoko a Look.

"I still have a gun."

"Aw, you don't like your stage name?" Momoko giggled.

"What do you think?"

"I think you're getting better with your lines?" Momoko tried, stifling the giggles. Barely.

"Well... of course."

Funny. Triela's voice wasn't quite as cold as it had been.

"And that you totally wouldn't shoot a friend who cares enough to come watch you improve so rapidly?"

"Not anywhere permanent."

"Probably."

"I totally knew you cared!" Momoko laughed. "But if you shoot me at all, I can't do any work."

"You'd get better." And, besides, Triela would be careful not to shoot her anywhere important!

Today's activity actually made Leda happy. She had kind of enjoyed the upkeep of Castle Pup, and was glad to get back to doing something like that.

She volunteered for painting duty.

And bits!

Momoko got busy moving things (yay strength!) and then sweeping under and around them.

Leda was armed with paint and painting supplies. She would share of course, but don't be surprised if a little paint gets on you as well. Just a little Leda was taking this at least semi-seriously.

When they check in

Triela was there, not wearing her suit jacket, for once.

Makita was there, covered in paint by the end of the meeting, but enthusiastically pitching in to take care of their range.

Who is awesome

Clean up options are totally moddable, but no additions to the space. We're just getting it back to the way it was!
